❃ Deidara tried not to show his pain openly so much, as he hated asking others for help.  He didn’t like others seeing him in pain because he didn’t want to burden others or make them feel like they had to help him. Neither did he expect anyone to care that much anyway.  When a woman he didn’t know approached him, he was going to walk away but a sharp pain in both his ears made him falter.

𝚃𝙷𝙴𝚈   𝙽𝙾   𝙻𝙾𝙽𝙶𝙴𝚁   𝙷𝙰𝙳   𝙼𝚄𝙲𝙷   𝚄𝚂𝙴   𝙵𝙾𝚁   𝙷𝙸𝙼   when   it   came   to   the   military   ━━━━━━━━━      these   were,   after   all,   peaceful   times.   Or   so   the   Rokudaime   wanted   everyone   to   think      ;      Orochimaru   however,   knew   better   than   most   that   the   aftermath   of   a   war   was   never   peaceful.   It   was   in   the   aftermath,   after   the   bloodshed   had   ended   and   the   panic   and   adrenaline   died,   that   people   could   really   see   the   effects   of   war      ;      could   really   glance   at   the   destruction   and   percieve   it   in   its   total   ━━━━━━   pain   could   turn   the   softest   ally   into   the   most   fearsome   foe,   he   had   seen   it   happening   before,   and   wouldn't   put   it   past   happening   again.

Still,   Orochimaru   was   content   in   working   for   the   village   ━━━━━━   since   Danzo's   death   and   his   miraculously   remaining   unscathed   by   the   fallout,   the   stress   that   used   to   plague   him   had   vanished   alongside   the   retched   old   man   ;      his   own   sins   washed   away   with   Danzo's   blood.   He   still   worked   for   the   ROOT,   or   what   was   left   of   it,   having   refused   leadership   of   the   organisation   upon   being   offered   ━━━━━━   he   had   no   interest   in   playing   puppets,   and   his   patience   with   the   Elders   was   very   thin,   he   wouldn't   enjoy   endulging   their   every   whim.   Despite   the   etheral   look,   Orochimaru   had   been   born   and   bred   a   soldier,   he   was   much   more   suited   for   that   role.

It   surprised   him   however,   when   he   had   been   called   upon   the   Hokage's   office      ;      informed   of   a   mission,   a   peculiar   one   at   that   ━━━━━━   he   was   very   familiar   with   the   Hyuuga   Clan,   as   he   had   been   with   their   cousin   clan,   the   Uchiha,   so   the   name   Hyuuga   Hinata   was   far   from   strange   to   him      ;      Hiashi's   firstborn,   a   shy   little   thing   from   what   he   could   remember.   He   was   to   accompany   Lady   Hinata   on   this   mission,   one   that   would   require   her   eyes   and   his   silver-tongue.   The   most   interesting   request   was   that   he   watch   her      ;      in   order   to   assess   her   ability   to   join   the   ANBU   ━━━━━━   Orochimaru   graciously   accepted   the   assignment,   even   if   he   thought   he   was   being   given   a   glorified   babysitting   job.

Hinata glanced at the girl looking suspiciously like her and a frown formed on her face. Was this an attempt at a poor disguise? Hinata approached the copy of her, a sneer plastered on her face. "Who the hell told you that I look anything like this? Do you really think I have a problem with my appearance? Or that I'd look like I'm about to fall flat on my face at the slightest sound? I don't even stand like that!" she barked before a hand reached out, grabbing the other's jacket before she activated her Byakugan.
