Shit that actually gives me psychic damage is people believing that big rock structures like the pyramids and whatnot are capable of moving energy on the same level as CERN. Like dear god learn what conductivity is and don't stop until you fully understand why big chunky rocks are dogshit at conducting electricity.
I never did get through that first trialâŠ
Luckily itâs a two week lab, but Iâll have to start over from the beginning again.
The First Time Traveler to Survive â Chapter 3
This one is pretty short, mostly enlightening conversations.Â
All aboard for aliens and science failures and being locked in a closet!
(Thatâs not a metaphor, but it probably should be.)
Onward!

Something scrabbled at the door. Â A grumbly voice asked, âDoes your planetâs teleportation usually malfunction this badly?â
Azalea looked up from re-packing her bag to see one of the hand-face weirdos peering in. Â It must have been stretching from that walkway ledge to be able to see, or maybe standing on the door handle. Â The lights were still dimmed for nighttime. Â
Azalea stayed sitting, not sure if she was being rude. Â âMy planet doesnât have teleportation technology,â she said slowly. Â âIâm working on a new invention.â Â
The creature made a click that sounded judgemental. Â âAmateur teleportation, even better. Â Lucky you didnât smear yourself across the walls.â
Azalea nodded. Â Lucky indeed.
âAnd is there no chance, none at all, that others from your planet are also working on this kind of new invention?â
She looked up sharply. Â This was the third time theyâd asked. Â âNone that I know of,â she said. Â âItâs possible, I suppose, but if theyâd succeeded, I feel like everyone would have heard about it. Â Why do you ask?â
The little alienâs eyes slid away. Â âWant to make sure we donât have more troublemakers popping up. Â And the captain did mention finding a dead one drifting earlier.â
Iâve shared this video of mine on here quite a while ago, but the viewership on it was rather poor, so Iâm just spreading it around again. This video is both a critique of Jurassic World from a conceptual perspective as well as an examination of what the movie gets wrong about extinct animals.Â
Scientifically accurate representations of dinosaurs on the big screen would be awesome simply due to the rarity of paleontological accuracy in pop culture, but more importantly, I think rooting the Jurassic film franchise in scientific knowledge would create a more unique, interesting, and enjoyable movie experience. While this might seem counter-intuitive, grounding the appearance and behavior of extinct animals in reality can actually circumvent lazy writing and common tropes, while also making the on-screen animals far more interesting and creative.
Basically, my thesis is that the abundance of scientific inaccuracy in movies featuring animals (both extinct and extant) often creates stupidity and stifles creativity.Â

The new Predator film doesnât seem to even understand what the word predator means...
Did you know that there have been cases where a pregnant women was so scarred by seeing something violent or brutal ( for example an amputee ) that when their babies were born, they were missing an arm or leg, or resembled the disfigurement the mom saw. Emotions can be transplanted to the fetus and even mark it physically.
