Yesterday was Red's first day of summer school. No biggie except she would be riding a bus for the first time. I was a nervous wreck, but she did great. And I didn't shed a tear either. We walk down about a block to the bus stop, and she gets on with a neighbor hood 2nd grade girl. She got off that day at 1235, without her friend, and also left her back pack on the bus. She realized it as she was crossing the road, and proceeded to turn back and get on the bus. He shut the door and I told him she "forgot her bag" and he let her back off again. Sigh. Pretty well, for the first time. She napped 3 hrs yesterday ;) So today, day #2. She awoke at 630, excited for summer school. I got her dressed, and Zo and Ben too, and down to the bus stop we went. She gladly crossed the road and boarded the bus with ease. She waved as she drove by the first time, and then was supposed to wave when she went by the second time ( our bus goes by our house twice) but was too busy talking to someone behind her seat.  Zo, Ben and I headed out of town for the morning, and returned just as summer school was getting out. I thought I would see if she wanted to just come home with us, and I parked and walked up to her class waiting to board the buses. She replied " No, MOM. i wanna ride the bus" Fair enough, and I said I would see her at home.  Once home, I unloaded groceries and headed down to the bus stop. Zoey's favorite part of waiting for Red is chanting " WE WANT THE RED HEAD" (it's a line from the Pirates of the Caribbean ride in WDW) We saw the bus turn and would be at our stop in a few minutes. Sure enough, the bus stops. Off come the other block kids X3, and then the big JR kid, and he closes the door. No RED! I yell to him, " Where is my red head?" The neighbor boy, JR Alex, says, " She was on there" Sheer terror. Breathe. The bus driver summons me over, as Alex says " I will jump back on the bus." So I talk to the driver, as Alex hops back on the bus, and the bus driver says " Oh, someone was sleeping............"

Sleeping? She denies she was sleeping. She says she just "didn't realize it was my stop" I kinda figured this whole getting off without a big kid would be difficult. 

Red has learned alot these last two days.
