#school opening

My mom works at a private school and after it was announced that public school wanted to stay online the private school's website crashed from all the parents trying to enroll their kids in the private school because it had plans to properly reopen. For the first time in forever, the school had waiting lists for multiple grades. This private school is putting lives on the line for money.

this is gonna sound stupid but im jealous of the people who are happy that we're not going back to school. like,,, i dont want to go back bc its safer and better for everyone but theres that little part of me thats like "but :(( i miss people" like yeah i miss my friends and i learn a lot better in person and i wanna have some time away from my family and be able to speak freely and be myself and i wanna go back for those reasons but NOT bad enough that i would risk people getting sick. but like,,,,, there are people who are just happy staying home all the time!!!! in my friend group, most of us are excited to go back when we finally do get the chance and its safe enough but one of my friends was like "dude no FUCK school, hate it there, i wanna do online forever" and i get that bc school sucks and in person isnt for everyone. but i kinda wish i could have the same mentality bc i feel selfish for wanting to go back to something that other people in other places are dreading and getting sick and DYING because they have to go. i want to go back for selfish reasons and even though that doesnt overpower the desire for everyone to be safe and stay home and just fucking live, its still there and i feel gross. i just wanna be able to be like "oh hell yeah we get to stay home for another semester" but i cant.
