My friend saw Frozen, and thought the trolls were unnecessary. How do you think the movie would be without the trolls? Or how would it be if the trolls never returned when Anna and Elsa weren't children anymore?
The trolls are in there for a reason! I mean, if they were "unnecessary" they would have been cut out from the movie since the first draft.
Like do you ever stop and think about all the things they do:
They keep Anna alive and take away Elsa's magic from her head. WIthout them, Anna probably wouldn't have woken up.
They adopt Kristoff and give him a home. Only Jen and Chris know how much time he had been alone and if he even has a place to go. The trolls turn into his family.
The trolls talk about this fixer-upper and how it's not someone bad but someone who has flaws and that everyone has them.
They teach Anna what true love is which is essential for her character. Love isn't "I like him/her very much", in Olaf words "Love is putting someone else's needs before yours"
In Jennifer Lee's words "Their song is crucial to the Anna & Kristoff relationship & sets up Anna's choice in Act 3 (listen to the bridge)."
The trolls are not unnecessary and they're there for something. They're always there, actually, I don't think they can leave the Valley of the Living Rock.
