Almost like they're trying to feminize her character or something. Idk.

It's totally valid to feel that way! I'm honestly surprised it didn't make me feel the same haha. Both my partner and I have no desire to ever carry a child.

I think the major reasons why it doesn't bother me and I even like it are that

A) players can choose whether or not that fits within their canon.

B) Lae'zel has made it very clear that she is happy she can't get pregnant, and if her having a kid required that to take place I'd be diametrically opposed to it as a result. However, I think the writers did a good job of insinuating that she just wants to be able to freely go to pound town AND that Vlaakith aligned Lae has absolutely no room or space for kids in her life. Or any respect or understanding for parenting or caretaking.

I feel like I saw that change a lot over the course of her story. Not to mention the implications of her choosing to ignore her own teachings and upbringings to grant a "weak" hatchling freedom of choice, freedom to live! Her deciding to care for it herself seems like a realistic choice if only because she wouldn't immediately know which of the Githyanki she could trust to raise it right.

C) I decided long ago that having my own kid would never be a thing I do but in my field of work I see too many homeless queer kids out there who I'd like to foster or adopt one day and just you know...create a space for them to be themselves and feel totally supported! So I'm probably projecting 😁.

D) (for dad) I also think Lae'zel is a father. Which probably helps.

But of course you get to actually curate that experience for yourself and I like to imagine that there are a billion Lae'zel's who all make different choices.
