Here’s a compilation of the various moments and adventures that Orko had when on his Sorcerer’s Quest. Pretty sure there’s more than what I’m showing you (the Quests can take up to two years to complete, though Orko might have finished his quicker than average), but I can only come up with and draw so much. So, here we go!
Don’t put too much stress on your wand, it could break from the pressure.
A bit of Trollan landscape... I probably should’ve colored it.
For some reason I thought of this “Good Samaritan” moment, except Orko just straight up has healing powers and the guy’s up and at ‘em almost immediately. They have dinner together with their weird straw-bowls--that I figure could be a thing on Trolla--and then part ways.
Better look out for bandits, they ain’t gonna go easy on you--
Then again, they don’t know who they’re dealing with.
Trolla has gelatin? Neat.
Just one of the many monsters he would end up fighting.
They tickled him for about an hour before he managed to fight back.
Orko vs. some creepy Pied Piper dude who is kidnapping children for whatever reason that I’m not sure I want to know. Creepo deserved to be punched by Orko’s scarf.
And Orko gets a cat out of a tree for sweet little babushka Trollan.
While there were times that he was offered a place to stay for the night (I know babushka Trollan made him stay a night and gave him dinner, and there are folks in some of the towns he saved who’ve done the same), there were times he had no choice but to set up camp. Which of these two arrangements he chooses usually depends on the weather.
Hey, wizards gotta bathe too. I’m sure his clothes will beat up anyone who tries to steal from him while he’s busy in the waterspout.
There’s also the occasional natural disaster he’s gotta fight.
Also, this particular day was when he discovered that he had a reputation, as well as fans:
This kid then gets an autograph and proceeds to show it to his sister, who is a certain someone that you might know...
She was witness to the avalanche thing, but doesn’t meet him face to face until several years in the future. In another dimension.
And while we’re on the subject of fans... I’m going to hazard a guess that Trollan girls generally find great magical power attractive in a male. And given that Orko’s pretty powerful, well...
I’m sorry, the idea of Orko fangirls was just too funny to me.
However, not all the attention he’s getting is positive...

Let’s visit the Magic Falls! Thought it’d be a nice stop on his trip.
And he faces off against the dreaded Dlom T’puroc, aka the Corrupting Mold, which attaches itself to a magical item or being and corrupts people into vicious monsters. Some folks turn animalistic and some turn into villains--either way, it’s not a fun time for anyone. It requires a skilled wizard with focus and finesse to remove the mold and destroy it.
Luckily, Orko has just enough of those to get the job done.
At this point in his journey, he’s fought plenty of monsters and he’s kind of sick of them. Sorry, dude, but you’re probably going to end up fighting a canyon’s worth of these things. Hope the twister army dissipates soon.
Meanwhile, we’ve got some folks tracking his progress.
On one side, we’ve got Uncle Montork and the Overlords of Trolla (the Head Overlord being Za-Gras, who was Montork’s old teacher). And on the other side is the Unnamed Order.
Montork and co. are watching with Orko’s well-being in mind, so that if he’s in a situation that he can’t handle, can’t escape, and would most certainly die from, one of them would be swiftly teleported there to take him out of the situation. Unfortunately, that typically means that the young wizard’s failed the test.
And why’s the Unnamed Order watching him? Whatever the reason, it’s not good.
Anyway, good news is that Orko did not need bailing out.
Because now, we’ve reached the end.
Another thing that should’ve been colored, haha. I know this isn’t what it looked like in Classics Canon, but I wasn’t digging the castle look, so I just decided to go wild for this AU... like I’m doing with half the stuff here anyway...
Our favorite little Trollan made it! He just has to meet the Overlords there, see the Star Tree for judgement, and receive his Mage Emblem.
I think I’ll show that in another post.
