"❓+ are you scared?" this evening Aoto- no, not Aoto, the baby, just the baby, just the hep of cells! it would only be safe to call him anything when he lay crying on her chest and not a second before that- was especially restless. Senritsu had leaned back against one of the kurtas old houses and listened to the old wallcreaking in he back, as she tried to find a standing position in which the childs kicks wouldnot hurt.
Searching through the old, dusty, and worn books on the bookshelf, Kurapika wished he could find a book written in Kurta that hadn't been brutally destroyed by abbandonament. Was he worried? Yes. Was he uneasy? A lot. But scared? No, scared he wasn't.
Sighing softly, Kurapika turned to look at her, and a small grimace appeared on his face. It was a grimace of a sad smile, of guilt, of not being able to stop thinking that she was going through all of this for his own selfish desire. She'd known that before, he knew it too… and yet, she was risking her well-being for his desire… his completely selfish desire.
"No, I'm not scared" he said softly, in a low tone, as if afraid of breaking the tranquility that now reigned in Lukso, as if afraid of breaking the peace that his clan rested on. "I'm just worried… and uneasy… I'm sorry, I'm not being a good emotional support for you right now, are I?… I want to be of help, Senritsu"
Approaching her slowly, Kurapika knelt in front of her and placed a hand on her belly, his lips gently resting on the other side as his thumb caressed her belly gently, slowly, as if he were afraid of hurting her, both her and the baby, simply with his touch. "I don't know if you can hear me… your auditory system should be developed enough to hear outside sounds by now… but you don't have the mental development yet to interpret my words… but anyway… do you think you could be a little gentler with mamá? We're happy that you're okay, moving around, and probably very comfortable and warm in there… but mamá is feeling pain right now… just for a little while, yes?"
For a moment, he felt silly speaking to a group of developing cells that wouldn't understand his words, maybe couldn't even hear him… but… it was their child growing inside her. Looking for her gaze, Kurapika sighed softly, trying to focus his thoughts. "Do you want to lie down in the woven hammock? Or maybe take a walk instead? Should I make you something to eat? Any cravings?"
