Hello everyone, and welcome to the first annual Space Bat Month, a fandom event centered around all the Galactic Horde Clones and Space Bats from the show She-Ra and the Princesses of Power (2018)!
This specific post pertains to the "Prompt List", which you can get more info about under the list itself.

For those who are new, these 31 words each correspond to the 31 days in July. You would then use this prompt to either make fan art, fan fiction, create headcanons, or start discussions, which you would then post on the day the prompt it attached to. (I would have made a fancy calendar to chart all of this, but I am so busy and burnt out with prepping for college that I just don't have time.)
Also, when I refer to the space bats, I mean all of them, such as:
Hordak
Horde Prime
Wrong Hordak
Imp
ALL Horde Clone/Space Bat OCs!
Yes, that is right, this event is all about your favorite space bats, even the ones you created yourself! However, just because the umbrella is so wide, you don't have to post about each and every one of the clones. If you just want this month to be about Horde Prime, Hordak, etc., that's totally fine! If you just want this month to be all about your OCs and their lore, go for it! Heck, if the Entrapdak shippers want this to be Entrapdak Positivity Month part 2, that is awesome as long as Hordak get equal or more focus.
Rules and Guidelines:
If you are creating gore or nsfw content for this event, please properly label it so sensitive viewers can avoid it.
Be respectful of other people's views of the clones/characters. While I 100% want there to be friendly discussions, I don't want to start WW3.
At least one or more clones have to be the focus of the content. I know we love shipping and other characters, but if a Space Bat is not the primary focus, then it doesn't count for this event.
Also, if you have clone OCs or Space Bat OCs (OCs that are not clones, but are a part of the same species), I implore you to do the assignment that way outsiders have a place to refer back to when they are reading or viewing your OCs.
And lastly, please use at least one or both of these tags when posting your content:
A list of some of my Spacebat OCs for quick reference. I didn't want to attempt a complete list, I have way too many bats for that, so instead I focused on the central characters of my ongoing fic Lingering Reflections. Still, the list is long -- you have been warned! At least there's pictures too <3
Main Bats
All three of the main bats are former Reconditioning Technicians that worked on the Velvet Glove. Reconditioning Technicians are the closest the Horde has to medics, and they handle the physical side of restoring damaged Brothers to standard appearance.
Indigo
Nicknames: Indie, formerly Elder Technician
Pronouns: he/him
Orientation: Asexual
Defining traits: Calm, observant, compassionate
Indigo is highly attached to his Designation, and continues to work in medical care at the clinic in the Dryl Spacebat Colony. He even fills his limited free time with study, usually the medicinal uses of native Etherian plants. Indie is many years older than his peers, the oldest known bat in the colony at over 90. He doesn't think much about his own potential future, instead focusing on making life better for the younger generations.
At first Indigo wasn't a name, merely a color label to help Etherian helpers tell medical clones apart from one another. But Indie has a particular fondness for the color, and grew to like the name.
Saffron
Nicknames: Saff, formerly Tall Brother
Pronouns: he/him
Orientation: Pansexual
Defining traits: Assertive, energetic, confident
Saff was the youngest member of his Technician crew. When Indigo immediately took up work in the Dryl medical clinic, Saff quickly followed. He has since begun specializing in physical therapy. Saffron loves exercise, and in his free time he can often be found running, climbing, or wrestling with his friends. He's used to not fitting in, having been born slightly taller than standard height, a rare survivor of a Defective batch.
On Etheria, Saff's curiosity and willingness to embrace strange customs led to quite a lot of friction with more cautious Brothers. He adopted the name Saffron after his dyed hair was compared to the cooking herb.
Sylvie
Nicknames: formerly Gentle Brother
Pronouns: he/they/she
Orientation: Biromantic Aegosexual
Defining traits: Sensitive, curious, friendly
The stress of the Disconnect was terribly hard on Sylvie. They couldn't manage continuing to work, and needed time to recover and adjust before deciding what they want to do with their life. During this time, they discovered their love of crochet. Sylvie weaves endless blankets, scarves, sweaters, and hats to give to fellow bats, spreading warmth and joy. They also teach other bats how to crochet and knit.
Sylvie named themself after a relative of a friend, the woman that originally taught them crochet.
Secondary Bats
Caspar
Nicknames: Most call them Cas
Pronouns: they/them (he/him acceptable only from fellow Brothers)
Orientation: Androsexual
Defining traits: Kind, nurturing, excellent at masking
Formerly an Attendant to Horde Prime, Cas now works at the Welcome Center of the Dryl Colony. They welcome newcomers and guests, helping Brothers to navigate jobs, housing, commerce, and community. Cas is highly other-focused, always helping and terrible at asking for help in return. Brothers rely on them for guidance and their comforting presence. Caspar was their Etherian-given name, and they modified it to Cas when they embraced nonbinary pronouns.
Rowanberry once served alongside Cas as an Attendant, and also as a helper at the Welcome Center. Eventually, his adventurous spirit led him to leave Dryl to learn more about the other colonies. Ro still keeps in regular contact with his friends back in Dryl, sharing stories and pictures of his travels. He gets along well with Etherians, and named himself after his favorite berries.
Ari
Pronouns: he/him
Orientation: Androsexual
Defining traits: Anxious, quiet, observant
Ari was found injured and taken to Dryl for treatment. He spent a long time in recovery at the clinic, and during his rehab, he learned to crochet from Sylvie. Ari found the activity calming for his anxiety, and also gave him something productive to do while he was bedbound. He continued the hobby after he was discharged, and became closer with Sylvie.
Nox
Pronouns: he/they
Orientation: Bisexual
Defining traits: Thoughtful, creative, calm
Nox was born prematurely when his pod was ruptured by vines as plants overtook the Velvet Glove. Indigo saved his life, but the traumatic decanting left him with permanent neurological damage, and he is smaller than his Brothers. Nox and Ari become roommates when Ari is discharged from the clinic, and the two grow to be close friends.
Rainfall
Nicknames: Rain
Pronouns: he/him
Orientation: Bisexual
Defining traits: Quiet, depressed, introspective
Rainfall is the only living Brother who once worked in Decomissioning, euthanizing his fellows at the end of their lifespan and recycling their cybernetics. He is ostracized from the Flock for this association, and struggles to make friends. But Rainfall was only doing what he had to for survival, and wishes no harm upon his Brothers.
Hazel
Pronouns: he/him
Orientation: Sex favorable asexual
Defining traits: Anxious, gentle, determined
Hazel is Indigo's roommate, and also apprentices with him at the clinic, learning all he can about medical care. He had a head start from his old Designation in the Birth Chambers, growing and decanting new clones, but treating fully grown Brothers is new to him. He currently serves an assistant role, helping look after patients. Though he isn't yet confident in his abilities, he's better at it than he knows.
Mauve was Saffron's original roommate when he first arrived at Dryl. He was once a Reconditioning Technician on a batallion ship, and continues the work because it's all he knows, but he is deeply unhappy. Mauve struggles to adjust to Etherian life, highly upset by the changes around him. This leads him to clash with Saff, who willingly embraces change.
Vessels
During the evacuation of the Velvet Glove, three modified Vessels were found in storage pods and brought down to Dryl. They were reborn into this strange new world with no memory of the time that passed since they each were placed in storage.
Songbird
Nicknames: Song, formerly V-1
Pronouns: he/him
Orientation: Demisexual
Defining traits: Caring, sensitive, cautious
Song is the oldest of the Vessels, the only one fully modified in the image of Horde Prime. This is a source of huge distress for him. On the one hand, he feels completely unworthy to look the way he does, and wishes he looked more like himself. On the other hand, he feels guilty that he isn't grateful for the honor. Most days he tries to forget this, focusing instead on helping take care of the other two Vessels, and the hosue they share together.
V-2
Nicknames: Toma (not yet a real name, friends only)
Pronouns: he/him
Orientation: Unknown
Defining traits: Grumpy, judgmental
The second oldest of the Vessels, V-2 resembles Prime in every way but the added eyes. V-2 is the most devout of the three, clinging to his conditioning and rejecting as many of the new changes as he can. He struggles to eat regularly, and spends a lot of his time shut in the bedroom closet praying.
Starling
Nicknames: Formerly V-3
Pronouns: he/him
Orientation: Aromantic Asexual
Defining traits: Curious, creative, friendly
Starling is the youngest of the three Vessels. He is the same height as the other three, but there the resemblance ends, and he has the same facial features as the rest of the Flock. Starling is a 'natural blue,' like Hordak, and in the absence of strict hormonal regulation, his long hair grows out a vivid dark blue. Of the three, Starling is the most adventurous, often leaving the house to see new places and meet new people.
Jay's Crew
Saffron's friends outside of the clinic, a group of former soldiers that all live together and work in construction. There are twelve bats in the crew, but for the sake of keeping the list manageable, I will include only those that appear regularly in the story.
Shrieking Bluejay
Nicknames: Bluejay, Jay
Pronouns: he/him
Orientation: Aromantic Androsexual
Defining traits: Playful, protective, passionate
The leader of the crew. Bluejay named himself after witnessing two birds having a loud dramatic territory dispute and liked their spirit (though almost no one calles him by his full name). He lives by the mentality of work hard, play harder. In his free time, he's often roughhousing with friends, starting fights, and hooking up with a roster of casual partners.
Slashing Sabercat
Nicknames: Saber, Kitkat
Pronouns: he/him
Orientation: Pansexual
Defining traits: Guarded, intense
Saber may look grumpy and intimidating, but among friends he's the life of the party. He loves joking around and engaging in tests of strength. He got his name from an altercation on another planet, in which he had a near-fatal battle with a huge sabercat that left quite a few marks on him. Of the crew, he's the only one that can fully go toe-to-toe with Jay in a fight.
Wintermint
Nicknames: Minty
Pronouns: he/him
Orientation: Pansexual
Defining traits: Sensitive, insecure
Minty was part of the same batallion as Jay. When the group arrived at Dryl, he was recruited to work in the kitchens (which is where he was given his name), separating him from his crew during working hours. Minty is too shy to try and switch jobs, and also feels useful bringing food back to the house. He is extremly loyal to Jay.
Claude
Nicknames: Claudie, Cuddlebear
Pronouns: he/him
Orientation: Aromantic Pansexual
Defining traits: Cheerful, friendly, creative
Claude wasn't originally in Jay's batallion, but in the post-Disconnect devastation, he found himself drawn to Jay's determined energy. He was heavily wounded in the last battle, and when they arrived at Dryl, he needed emergency surgery to remove his right arm. Now he has a robotic prosthetic. During his time learning how to use the new arm, Claude took up drawing. He loves painting patterns on himself and his Brothers.
Swooping Falcon
Nicknames: Falcon, Fal
Pronouns: he/him
Orientation: Pansexual
Defining traits: Inquisitive, thoughtful, patient
Falcon was born in the same batch as Saffron, but unlike Saff, he was immediately slated for the battlefield. Like a large majority of their doomed batch, Falcon has hearing and vision impairments, though his were not considered severe enough for termination. He survived his deployments by forming close friendships that protected him from others that saw him only as a liability. Without the Hivemind, he communicates via sign language.
Valor
Nicknames: formerly Valiant Brother
Pronouns: he/him
Orientation: Pansexual
Defining traits: Calm, analytical, considerate
Formerly the Force Captain of Jay's batallion, Valor didn't think he was going to survive after the Disconnect. He was too wounded to walk, and Saber carried him for the entire journey that led them to Dryl. Valor expected to be euthanized and recycled, only to wake up very much alive, but without his lower legs. After an intense and difficult recovery, Valor is now happily "retired," content to let Jay run things at the house.
Grey was originally unknown to the crew, though he was also a soldier prior to the Disconnect. Valor met him while in recovery at the hospital, and seeing his pain and isolation, offered him a place in their home and Flock. Grey has an extremely rare autoimmune condition where his body reacts badly to his cybernetics. He had a severe flare not long after the Disconnect that left him partially paralyzed.
Genuinely, the concept of a hive mind has been a fascination of mine for so long. Words have always been a challenge for me and it would be such a blessing to just communicate my thoughts without this constant hurdle. I’ve thought about so many different kinds of hives and what it would be like to have a constant and brutally honest connection.
I’ve had many big thoughts about how to classify different kinds of hive minds and of how one would identify with being part of a hive mind.
In the picture you may see two clone bodies but Vix is one entity. Vix, he/him, plurative, hive/hives, is a fully integrated hive with artificial connection via technology to maintain the connection. Vix came across himself in Prime’s low level integration hive and the two’s hive identity was discovered when they were stationed in close proximity to each other. Due to his intrinsic hive nature, hives mind sought to be whole through Prime’s link by forging new pathways through network to broaden the bandwidth of access they could have with each other.
Prime’s network was not built for expansive interconnection between hive nodes as it was made to only streamline into Horde Prime with minor connection between clones. Prime experienced severe psycho-active effects from the more intuitively developed pathways that Vix created through his cyber-Neurogenesis.
Once discovered by Prime, he would study their connection by being a middleman for Vix’s hive development. He was able to learn much from the two but mainly used what he learned from Vix to fully integrate himself with central processing computers on the Velvet Glove while keeping the clone hive mind streamlined through him.
When he had learned all he could and got bored of experiencing Vix’s mind, Prime had Vix disconnected from his hive mind, severing Vix into singular pieces. This was incredibly painful for Vix and while he was kept in [redacted], his separated nodes resorted to practiced movement mirroring, joined speech, and physical intimacy to simulate the hive mind connection but only to limited success.
Being a fully integrated hive mind, the minds that comprise Vix are not separate entities. When able to be connected, hives nodes do not experience individual thought. Recorded brain scans showed identical activity without exception, even during sleep. Vix is one person.
Meanwhile, in Horde Prime’s hive mind, Prime has access to the minds of all the clones but is not omnipotently present in all of his clones. Spacebats are able to fully live independent lives from each other post-disconnect where Vix was only able to lead a healthy life style with technological aid to maintain his hive connection. The clones are each their own person with the exception of the clones that comprise Vix.
There is possibility that other clones may have also been a part of Vix but never experienced neurological activation due to never crossing paths with Vix while in the same hive mind. Yes, Vix was a hive mind within a hive mind. Data records on Vix’s batch origins and experimental data recorded by Prime were either lost or corrupted by the organic growths on the Velvet Glove. Vix also suspects that Prime destroyed much of his own research to prevent even his own clones from being able to use it.
Nothing was done to Vix to make him a fully integrated hive mind, his nodes were created like any other clone but had a naturally developed hive identity. Even without a mental connection present, his nodes were still of hive identity.
Vix has chosen lavender eyes but does not dye his hair as the variations in dye and its fading processes between his nodes feels dysmorphic. Due to separation trauma, Vix prefers to dress his nodes in identical outfits but can tolerate some differences when his nodes are not interacting. Vix is not able to have piercings or tattoos for the above reasons.
Struggles that Vix faces from being a fully integrated hive mind:
ensuring that his nodes are equally fed and watered
making sure that hives technological aids are fully functioning
being referred to as a multiple people
one of his nodes driving through a tunnel or getting on an elevator unexpectedly is terrifying due to the hive mind connection experiencing interference
having to plan around bodily functions of multiple bodies
double the cost of clothing expenses
going through a lot of clothes since one item needing a repair causes it to loose its identical properties
sensory bleed/synesthesia severely limiting Vix’s opportunities such as driving
double the food bill
giving the correct node the correct medication
ensuring both nodes have been equally bathed
being told ‘one at a time’ then getting in trouble since Vix is one person
node separation anxiety
remembering to look at others with only one node at a time so they know where to make eye contact with hive
A bit unconventional -- after Prime's fall, the hivemind was also lost. The only way to regain that mind-to-mind connection is via special cables.
Starling (the taller bat on the right) always has one of these cables on hand. He finds it much easier to communicate this way, and enjoys connecting with friends to share memories and experiences.
