A bit of gray planet world building me and @neoncityrain worked on, factions! Keep in mind that this is from the perspective of about six, seven years after the events of Casualties: Unknown.
Zagerus Breakers Union: Lead by the baron known as Chiron, these guys primarily are scrappers and arms dealers. Their main base of operation is a semi-automated foundry for processing metals, and so they've been instrumental in building projects.
The town of Sticks: Currently without a specific leader, Sticks is the closest place to a "city" on the gray planet. It is a town made up of a few hundred sawians housed in refurbished pods, buildings, shacks, lean-to's, etc. Anyone can live here, as long as they don't cause trouble, and this is enforced by basic manners and a few local do-gooders with a conscience.
Porters: Lead by the Icke known as Percival, this is a small group of sawians who have dedicated their time to unlocking and distributing the secrets of human technology. Not often attacked by other groups due to the fact that their work is very delicate, and a lot of it takes places in a "Clean Room" not far from Sticks you don't want to mess up.
Dune Riders: Lead by the dune known as Helbent, this is a gang of sawians who are more focused on taking stuff than any kind of sustainability. Made up mostly of SAW-12 "Dunes", they'll attack random groups they come across to take whatever they want. This also isn't a single organized group, and more a collective term for this kinda ideology. The only reason Helbent is the "leader" is because she's the biggest, toughest, and meanest of them all. Also, yes, the name 'Dune Riders' IS very funny.
Loyalists: Also called "Domesticated", "Messy", "Pets", and other derogatory nicknames, this is an ideological group that are still loyal to humanity in one way or another despite evidence to the contrary. There's no known central "leader" among this group, as it's closer to an underground movement with some roaming bands of Sawians looking to get on humanities good graces. As for why they're still loyal, well, "They were nice to me, though." "They still care about me." "I'm not like the rest of you ferals." Are common reasons.
Cave Rovers: A name for both explorers and residents of the Mission Area, having found the endless depths to be quite to their liking. There's no specific leader, but it seems the Cave Rovers generally follow the lead of one oddly-coloured Chik.
Popstone Gang: Sawians with an affinity for stonefruit and dynamite, and are primarily made up of SAW-03 "milky's". Generally, they look for any unopened cache of stuff, and open it. One way or another. They're also known for not being the most respectful to people who might have already claimed what loot they've "found".
While the Popstone's and Rider's are made up of mostly milky's and dune's respectively, every group listed here has a very healthy amount of expies amongst them as well, due to the fact that there are just so many.
milky version of that one expie image because i couldnt seem to find one so i traced over the expie version in microsoft paint and forged this haha
waow drawing tablet art of my fic characters instead of mouse art this time,,,
Realistically if the company was shut down and all the sawians set free they'd end up becoming just another variety of city vermin, like stray dogs combined with Victorian era street urchins.
Like, sure they're cute. But building some sort of safety net for them would raise taxes by 0.00000001% and no way anyone in America's voting for that. Besides, the alleys have plenty of rotten food and juicy rats to eat, and there's even lots of used drug needles for them to play with.
So all in all it'd be a massive boost to their quality of life!

So, this one took a WHILE to come out. Sorry for the wait, everyone. As always, comments, questions, and such are very much welcome :b
Transmission 003: Time and Memory
*The camera starts up for the third time, Nicholas backing away and waving to the camera. He has a soft smile on his face. The lights are on, so it's easy to tell what the wall behind him looks like; a silver metal wall with minimal decoration.*
