#Repost @publicappealforcheryl ・・・ 1994: New Home, LTIP and Kutapression Shots I continue to work but I was struggling and I clearly needed long term disability and a new manager suggested I take it. I took a 3 year lease on a apt. I thought I would be back at work before 3 years and move again. My GP was gone on sabbatical and not coming back and the New GP, Dr McMillan started me on self administered B12 shots, and helped me import Kutapression Shots from Swartz Pharma in the US for M.E. It was a six month course of injections. I was also seeing a infectious disease specialist at Wellesley Hospital Dr. Mary Fanning as I needed some brain scans and testing done following Dr. Hyde suggestions a ME specialist in Ottawa. Her nurse taught me how to eject into my legs, and in the muscle. My central nervous system was still elevated and the sensory overload was driving me nuts. sometimes I thought I couldn’t handle it anymore. I had a list of about 30 to 40 symptoms i gave to my doctor with the top ones taking turns for severity. I painted my apartment and for each wall or two walls, I would spend anywhere from two days to a week in bed crashed. I had Muscle weakness from the Myalgic Encephalomyelitis, couldn’t stand long and Holding the painting pole was hard. I also couldn’t hang most of my pictures. By the sixth month functioning levels improved greatly. it didn’t cure me by far but it got me from 30% to 50% functional to 60+ I was still crashing not as hard or long. I went out and bought a bike, with bags on the back rack a life safer for carrying groceries. I couldn’t ride it very far only a few blocks and I paid for it physically but not as bad as walking. Bob my ex needed a place to stay temporarily and he slept on the couch. We did a excursion to my rock on wards Island which was the last time I made it to the Toronto islands and the last time I tried to ride that far. I was in tears coming home and had to stop. During this time was going to the OMEGA Center for spiritual and alternative healing. I started doing inner child and dream work journaling using a self help book. Mom called me Brew since a tot and I was tomboy during puberty so I used these. I took short term disability from work. I had always had severe menstrual cramps, but the M.E. caused PMS which affected in the later half of my cycle and increased ME/FM symptoms. I went to ST. Michael’s PMS clinic and I noted daily symptoms, the list was long. The ME/FM symptoms were greatly increased by the PMS for 2 weeks out of each month. The doctor told me to take the Zopiclone prescribed for insomnia for daytime for the CNS problem and 20mg Prozac for PMS and it was jacking up my adrenaline and causing false energy. I got permission from my doctor to return to work early. To this day I have no idea why they were giving Prozac for PMS. At work I had a seizure and/or a TIA. I was sitting at my desk and my head hit my desk falling forward. I dazed out and temporarily lost my speech. I was disorientated, tears streaming down my face. I didn’t understand what was happening.Work called an ambulance and a work buddy went with me to Michael’s ER. The ambulance driver said I was the 2nd woman he had taken to the hospital that day for reactions Prozac. I was disorientated and had trouble with word recall. No brain scan was done, only blood tests.The ER Dr. said he had never heard of any problems with Prozac and gave a script for Xanax, and said stop the Prozac. I remained disorientated for a few days and returned to work. This was 1993, the Prozac Hearings were in 1991 which I didn’t find out about until after being brain damaged repeatedly from psych drugs years later. Andy spent spent my rent and birthday present money and I had to return it to the artist.
