Han has absolutely had dealings with Hondo and that's the hill i'll die on.
He had better - why would Star Wars ever miss out on an opportunity like that?

okay, i definitely once thought about Five having actually had an imaginary friend named Dolores when he was very little (y'know, before Reginald beat that sort of thing out of them all), so like... he comes back and suddenly he's talking about her again and everyone goes ????, only to go ????????? even HARDER when they realize she's half a mannequin now. where am i going with this? idk!
oh thatās so absolutely valid and iām immediately accepting that as a very very blessed au
so when theyāre all little, number four has like a BUNCH of imaginary friends that he talks about all the time. They sound really neat and interesting and Five takes an immediate interest - but when he asks four how he met them four just shrugged and say theyāre just there all the time but only he can see themĀ ācause heās special and they like him best
So Five tries really very hard and eventually makes up his own friend so he can have something to talk about with four. Her name is Dolores and he loves her lots and lots because she says heās her favorite and at this point in his life Five hasnāt really ever been anyoneās favorite
after itās revealed fourās friends are actually ghosts, four stops wanting to talk to or about them altogether because now theyāre scary (he doesnāt even want to talk to the nicest one named Dave who he used to say he was gonna marry when he grew up)
but everyone knows Fiveās power is jumping, so they tell him that Dolores isnāt real. He kindly tells them that theyāre stupid and of course Dolores is real
eventually he just learns to not talk to Dolores around the others, even if he slips up sometimes and asks her what she thinks all the time (sheās really very smart and gives good advice so why wouldnāt he consult her whenever possible?)
heās probably around?? nine? when he trains himself out of talking to dolores? because thatās the age that Luther tattles on him and calls him a baby in front of dad and Dad agrees that heās being a baby so now he gets punished if he talks to or about Dolores
so there are four years where Five only ever talks to Dolores in whispers when heās alone and sheās the one who listens to him when he needs it and comforts him during and after Dadās awful training and really heās okay with keeping her private and safe because sheās his friend not anyone elses
so when Five pops back up looking thirteen and goes and fetches a mannequin that he introduces to them as Dolores they all remember Fiveās imaginary friend
he might have only talked sparingly about her for a long time but now he gives exactly 0 shits what his siblings think because heās not going to ever hide Dolores away again not when sheās been the only one he could rely on for all those years alone in the apocalypse
so heās constantly consulting Dolores and telling the others in matter of fact tones thatĀ āDolores thinks thatās a stupid ideaā
āDolores is a mannequinā one of them points out
āNot alwaysā Five responds blithely just making everyone even more confused
and you know what because Dolores isnāt associated with the apocalypse and has been with him since WAY before that, he doesnāt go and take her back to the department store. So heās in the house when Luther tries to lock Vanya up. And so Vanya ends up being freed and the apocalypse doesnāt happen and they have a happy ending
the end
A gift for @sauntering-down , who pulled my heart through the wringer, but gave me a very happy ending to a very traumatic story.
I'm still reeling but less so now. Here's the best interaction ever.
BONUS:
HI! I binged The Untamed and just finished the novel and found your analysis on WWX and LWJ's feelings realization in the live action and agreed wholeheartedly with it. for me their relationship progression in the live action is very different in the novel, like it wasn't as clear to me when LWJ fell in love with WWX in the novel compared to the live action. there wasn't that thunderstruck moment, and it seemed to more start as curiosity/flustered -> admiration/love; what do you think?
Itās actually been like a hot minute since I read the novel and i seriously just BLASTED through it like no joke so thereās a lot of stuff iām forgetting (iām trying to do a reread rn in chinese using a voice to text app bc rip my reading comprehension), but I agree that it feels quite different when reading the novel vs watching the live action.
(i⦠donāt remember how the lantern scene played out in the book i only remember the fight with jin zixuan afterwards hahaha, but even as iām searching i canāt find the chapter to reread it myself!! aahh)
on the other hand, I also think itās totally possible that the reason we DONāT see that thunderstruck moment of lwjās is because the novel is exclusively from wwx, oblivious dumbass extraordinaireās perspective hahahaha. hereās a man who kissed lwj of his own accord and thought huh wonder why i did that iām not into men. so. you know. no wonder it wasnāt clear to us when lwj fell in love bc it went RIGHT over wwxās head lmao
EDIT:
sauntering-down
Ā Ā the lantern scene isnāt in the novel at all. Ā i was waiting for it and was sadly disappointed Ā Ā
AHA okay thanks i had a sneaking suspicion that maybe it wasnāt in the book but i distinctly remembered the fight with jin zixuan so i was like?? wasnāt it though?? anyways there we go
maybe they were never actually meant to be chained up. THK hung out with Grimm too much, decided to try sleeping while hanging from the ceiling, as one does, and then got stuck in the chains until the Knight came along. i think this theory has merit.
youre absolutely correct. grimm is the Cool Bad Influence Uncle. can you blame thk for wanting to be like their Cool Uncle. this is entirely understandable, and entirely plausible.

wait who fucked up this time
@sauntering-down [deep breath] Sebastian Stan posted a (now deleted) meme poking fun at NFL players kneeling during the National Anthem. The meme was also pretty disrespectful to the movie heās in and trying to promote about Tonya Harding.

Basically, if you donāt acknowledge that it was terrible and if you drag what the NFL players are protesting, you get deleted from my feed. B)
