This Flying Boat with egistration G-ALUN was the first of three prototypes built and the only one to ever fly. It was designed after World War II to be a luxurious, long-range airliner for transatlantic routes, such as Southampton to New York City. The Princess that holds the distinction of being the largest all-metal flying boat ever constructed.Â

There was once a time when you could take a Daimler Freeline to Auckland City from South Auckland, where both the Auckland Transport Board and Passenger Transport Company had Daimler Freelines.
ATB/ARA 257 [Daimler Freeline/SaRo [ATB assembled]) has now ended up in Browns Bay, where it is being slowly restored and will hopefully grace the road again soon.
It is one of two ATB Daimlers in the North Shore area. Sadly, none of the PTC Daimlers survived, and their unique homebuilt bodies have perished with them .
