This Flying Boat with egistration G-ALUN was the first of three prototypes built and the only one to ever fly. It was designed after World War II to be a luxurious, long-range airliner for transatlantic routes, such as Southampton to New York City. The Princess that holds the distinction of being the largest all-metal flying boat ever constructed.

One of the forgotten greats, the Saunders-Roe SR.45 Princess was the largest all metal flying boat ever flown. First flying on 22 August 1952, just three of these luxury double bubble pressurized fuselage flying boats were built and only one graced the skies above Britain for a mere 100 hours.
