Todays Snake Is:
The Arizona Mountain King Snake (Lampropeltis pyromelana) is a nonvenomous species endemic to the southwestern United States. As its name would suggest, these snakes are commonly found among mountains at elevations of up to 2,700 meters (8858 feet). Appearances can vary, with individuals bearing little to no black, such as the one above, or having thick black bands obscuring most of its red coloring.
