She was my best friend from elementary school. She came in the middle of 4th grade year and til fifth grade.She migrated from Nigeria and she was very academically advanced and was ahead by one grade.I remember she was an adorable girl and she encouraged me to do things my shy self would be timid to do. Like try new things participate-HAVE FUN!!

Some girls would brag about how little they ate or the last time they even had a miel which was 20 something hours ago 0-0 but her? No.Hyjia dreamed of all of the food she could eat and we together exchanged our food fantasy with each other; Pizza, Ice cream, Burgers. You name it!

I miss her a lot years later :,)

दोस्ती सिर्फ एक रिश्ता नहीं, ये जिंदगी की सबसे खूबसूरत कहानी है। बचपन के वो दिन याद हैं जब बिना किसी वजह के घंटों बातें होती थीं, हंसी के फव्वारे छूटते थे और हर छोटी खुशी मिलकर मनाई जाती थी। वक्त के साथ ज़िम्मेदारियां बढ़ीं, मुलाकातें कम हुईं और दोस्ती की चमक जैसे फीकी पड़ गई। लेकिन सच्ची दोस्ती कभी पुरानी नहीं होती, बस उसे फिर से जगाने की जरूरत होती है। इस फ्रेंडशिप डे पर शिकायतों को किनारे रखिए और अपने बचपन के दोस्तों को वही पुराना प्यार महसूस कराइए। उन्हें फोन की एक घंटी या एक प्यारा सा मैसेज भी पुराने दिनों को लौटा सकता है। छोटी-छोटी बातें, प्यारी यादें और दिल से निकली हंसी ही तो जिंदगी को आसान बनाती हैं। क्योंकि दोस्त वही होते हैं जो मुश्किल वक्त में भी मुस्कान ले आएं। तो चलिए, इस बार सिर्फ फ्रेंडशिप डे नहीं मनाते, बल्कि दोस्ती को फिर से जीते हैं – जैसे वो बचपन के दिनों में जीया करते थे।

Got the chance to hang out with an old friend recently. It’s been about four years since we last spent time together. A lot has changed over the years, and looking back, there were things I could’ve handled better. But sometimes, time gives you the clarity you didn’t have before.

What mattered most was how natural it felt to see each other again, like no time had passed at all. We talked, we laughed, and more importantly, we understood. Some friendships really do have a way of finding their way back, stronger and lighter.

Grateful for second chances and quiet closures.

I think it's really sad that sometimes we see a certain friend we used to have earlier in life and instead of catching up, you just smile or walk past each other.

I mean, I used to know a lot about you. I used to know how your day went, or who do you like, your secrets..

But now.. we're like strangers with a memory that will be buried deep within.

It's really sad for sentimental people that you remember certain things about them and they don't even remember something about you.

This is why I try so hard not to get attached too much to friends now.
