I offered Satan some devotional writing for helping me get the money I needed today. When I sat down to write it, I just wrote paragraphs about why I think he's a great friend and god. I felt embarassed afterwards almost, I think I had intended to write something dark and esoteric. "Meeting Satan for the first time made me feel like I was returning home to visit. Itโs strange to feel like you are returning home when you donโt have one of those. I find myself constantly inspired by him, and by his partners. There is a wisdom there that is balanced by having seen the shape and weight of the world. Trusting is hard, but his energy is an honest thing. I never find myself feeling lied to around him.ย
I donโt understand the hierarchies of eternity. Sometimes Satan seems like one man, like a set of immoveable ideas. Thatโs never the reality of it, though. He approaches situations not to control primarily, more to learn. He has an elegance that shakes me to my core. Heโs the dean of a prestigious university that takes time to have dinner with his students. Sometimes when you grow comfortable enough with him, it will be broken by moments of realizing โholy fuck, Iโm talking to someone REALLY important right now.โ You forget again when he asks about your favorite show, his follow up questions thoughtful and his voice without judgement. Iโm glad to be learning how to worship others, glad to have been inspired to do so. Iโm starting to understand how important my friends are. Not because we are married to gods, or because we are strong practitioners. We are important because we choose to live with importance. I am awed by my friends as Satan is awed by [My friends name], as Lucifer is awed by me. May all of our worship go in the directions that deserve it, and may our best friendships be unexpected."
Anyway, I hope he liked it, and thanks again to him and all of you for being the way my magic manifests in this great world.
