Blitz had been fighting with this stupid game for too long. He tossed the controller aside and sank down into the cushions, sighing deeply as he listened to the sound of the game's background music playing quietly on the tv.
Stupid how annoying it was now, but he didn't want to lay in silence either. He turned his head, peering out the balcony at the empty sky. it was too long until the next full moon. ...why did he care? He groaned and rubbed at his face, before flopping his arms back down.
Stupid bird. Stupid, pretty bird.
He felt his face heat up just thinking about holding him in his arms that first night. Feathers soft against his chest, hands clasped and held tight against him.
Shit...
His heart throbbed, and so did his-
fucking- shit.
dammit...
He pressed his palm down against the bulge in his shorts, breath coming out in short little huffs as he imagined those limbs tied down beneath him, the little praises he gasped out when he pinned him down and railed him- "Fuck-"
What was this bird doing to him? He was sitting here pining. Pining.
What the fuck was wrong with him? He felt heat pool in his gut, claws dipping below the line of his shorts so he could press on the weeping head of his length, ripping a shudder out of him.
[Right there-]
Blitz imagined his voice, closing his eyes when his breath hitched from the sensitivity it ripped out of him.
[Please, s-so good-]
He let out a low keen.
[Blitz-]
He gasped and felt the heat suddenly recoil, legs trembling and hiking up as his hand moved desperately to chase it.
His breaths came out heavy as he came down from the high, tail flicking about wildly as he rubbed his cheek against the back cushion.
[So good for me...]
The flush on his face deepened, a sobering sort of shame settling in his form. What was he thinking? He couldn't keep him.
that was fun to write, i don't usually do anything too far into the past but i liked doing a little bit of pining history with blitz. also bonus that it was my first nsfw writing for helluva boss lmao I've been avoiding it a little. anyway here you go hope that was a good first prompt to write!

i mean unless u are completely allergic to romantic interactions then maybe there's a warning for that. It gets spicier towards the end but cuts.
THIS PART...is not the full thing. i can't post the whole thing (i cut it early and i plan to write a scene that will not be on tumblr) bc of tumblr TOS. but i wanted to post part of it, so here is part of the 5th section that i can share.

Part 5
· ⊠Feverish âŠÂ ·
If anything, the minute theyâd gotten a room in the inn, Lan Wangji was not expecting Wei Wuxian to immediately steal a kiss. And another. AndâŠanother.
The minutes blurred together, and despite the taste of tin on the otherâs tongue that set off alarm bells in the back of his mind, he was kissing Wei Wuxian. The man he loved all these years, all this time balled up in his inner conflicts, pining, worrying, and hoping coming to fruition in such a sudden fashion.
He managed to push against Wei Wuxianâs shoulders however when another worry suddenly flared in the back of his mind. âWâŠWei Ying. Wait.â
Wei Wuxianâs face flickered with impatience, but he sighed, leaning against the others arms and smiling up at him instead. âHmmm? Yes?â
âIs thisâŠwhat you want?â
Those crimson eyes turned up again in subtle mirth. âHm? Was the tongue I shoved down your throat just now not enough of a hint?â
âW-Wei Ying.â Lan Wangji sighed and pulled him to the bed to sit. âYouâre not justâŠtoying?â
Wei Wuxianâs eyes widened once more. Ohhh, that's what this was about. âOh, haha, haha!â He smiled wide, waving a hand quickly as if the other had said something terribly funny. âYou think I've played like this with anyone before?â
Lan Wangjiâs silence just stunned the other cultivator more.
âWhat, you really thought Iâd be the type?â
âYouâŠflirt a lot.â
âYou mean used to.â
â...â Lan Wangji supposed it made sense that the other stopped flirting if he was traumatized by whatever happened. Ah, that's right- âWei YingâŠI would-â Heâs silenced however by a finger to his mouth.
âYouâre my first kiss.â Wei Wuxian stated matter of factly. âIâve been waiting for you to say something, but who knew I'd have to chase it out of you.â
Lan Wangji swallowed involuntarily, only speaking again once the other removed his finger. âThatâs not what I wasâŠâ
âI donât wanna talk about that nasty stuff right nowâŠâ Wei Wuxian pouted, pushing the other back slowly by pressing forward more and more, until Lan Wangjiâs back was pressed against the bed. He chuckled softly, the sound eliciting a shiver up the otherâs spine. âI wanna talk about my bunnyâs feelings and kiss until we can hardly breathe. In that order.â
âWei YingâŠ!â Lan Wangji turned his head away, but Wei Wuxian just laughed and mouthed at his exposed neck instead, earning hands firmly squeezing his arms and a shuddering breath next to his ear.
âOkayâŠmaybe it doesnât have to be in orderâŠâ Wei Wuxian brought his head up, licking his lips slowly with a little coy grin. âMaybe we can add a few other things to the list too.â his eyes glow subtly, and the grind of his hips elicits a husky gasp out of his bedmate.
âIâd like to taste a little more than your mouth and neck, I think.â

· ⊠Beneath the Skin ⊠·
Resentment tore through his flesh, leaving trails of embers beneath the ghostly skin and veins. He was already in such grave pain, the volume of his screams couldnât get any louder but only more desperate. He choked on the searing grip, feeling something wriggling like maggots into every opening of his qiqiao. He gagged and heaved, fruitlessly attempting to expel the smell of death and dirt from his lungs.
We will take over for you.
Youâre tired, right? Let us in.
We can destroy the Wens for you.
Every. single. one.
He didnât want to lose himself. To defeat the Wens though, it was needed.
His body was no longer useful. If he let this entity take over though, it could mean anything and his life would be over. He closed his eyes tightly, not able to see past the black and red sludge dribbling from his face and eyes anyway. On one conditionâŠ!
And what would that be?
You never harm the innocent or my people! I would sooner bite my tongue and die!! He seethed, teeth bared in fury.
âŠFine. There are many who are guilty in the world,
so there is no shortage.
It would be a waste for you to lose your life now.
Youâre much more fun alive.
Wei Wuxianâs mind became a haze as he let go.
Slowly, his body righted itself, blood red eyes staring out past the sharpened hills and bodies of cultivators.

Part 4
· ⊠Do You Understand? âŠÂ ·
âWei Ying.â
Wei Wuxian blinked and turned his head away from Biling Lake, tilting his head slightly as the white-clad cultivator approached. âLan Zhan.â He smiled, turning his shoulder slightly as if showing off the stained robe on his shoulders. It was the one Lan Wangji had given him during the war.
âWhat are you doing here?â Lan Wangji folded his arms behind his back, watching the other kick his legs off of the wall of the waterway. He felt a light ache not seeing the smile he loved still, even now that the war had been over for some time.
âJust because. Jiang Cheng told me to get lost for a while~â Wei Wuxian hopped up, joining the other at his side. âHe didnât say how far or how long.â
âBut the hunt is soon.â
âOh that.â Wei Wuxian sighed and lifted his arms above his head, stretching out his arms. âIâve been told itâs best for me not to go.â His shoulders popped from the stretching, but Lan Wangji didnât have time to mention that he should be working his body more, instead he paused in his step, looking a bit lost for a second before correcting his expression.
âWhy?â
âIâm too scary or something.â Wei Wuxian grinned, âI think you know the full reason though, right Lan Zhan?â
âWei YingâŠâ Lan Wangji moved around to stand in front of him, conflict in his expression. âWill you tell me whatâs happened now?â
Wei Wuxianâs face darkened briefly, face calculating for a moment but eventually took a deep breath and smiled again. âLan Zhan, there is only one reason why I wouldn't be able to wield a sword, right?â He holds out his hand. âI have no qualms about you knowing.â
As Lan Wangji moved to take the hand and check his meridian however, an instinctual jerk of Wei Wuxianâs arm surprised the both of them. âAhâŠsorry about that.â
Lan Wangji just seemed confused. âYou offered your hand to meâŠare you alright?â
âMm yes, Iâm just a little bitâŠâ He wiggled his fingers next to his head, smiling in that usual eerie way heâd picked up as he wasnât sure how to explain himself. âLetâs try that again.â
This time he kept his hand held out, but it did start shaking as Lan Wangji took hold of his arm this time. Only when Lan Wangji finally pressed his fingers into the meridian did the shaking stop. Wei Wuxianâs face was dark once more, but for a reason he said nothing of, until Lan Wangji lifted his head. Then he smiled again, despite the heartbreaking expression on his old friendâs face. âDo you understand?â
Lan Wangji dragged Wei Wuxian away from the public eye as quickly as he could manage without it looking suspicious. âWei YingâŠâ He took the otherâs shoulders as soon as they were out of sight, frown deeply set into his brow. âSo thisâŠthis is why you havenât qi deviated. Thereâs nothing to deviate anymore.â
Wei Wuxian hummed and waved a hand dismissively. âIâd like to think thereâs multiple reasons, but that would be one of them.â He froze up however when the man suddenly had him wrapped up in those white robes of his.
Lan Wangji had pulled away from the hug before Wei Wuxian even realized what happened, pupils blown and eyes wide. âLâŠLan Zhan?â The man held his face and he stared back, wildly curious but shocked at the same time. This did not equate to what he knew of the other.
âWei YingâŠCome to Gusu with me.â Then Wei Wuxianâs expression returned to that ever eerie look once more, and Lan Wangji regretted it.
âYou still want me to go to Gusu?â
Lan Wangjiâs eyes flitted over the otherâs face and he slowly withdrew his hands.
âWhy?â Wei Wuxian asked once more, as usual. âYou canât expect me to do something like abandon my shixiong without an explanation.â
Lan Wangji was quiet for a long time, and so Wei Wuxian sighed, âYou have to tell me why. If itâs not to bring me to healers or make me mend my ways, Protect me where I don't need it or whatever else, I need to know the reason. Not that I think it's entirely possible.â
âI justâŠâ
âWhat?â
âI want to be by your sideâŠâ His voice came out meeker than usual, unsure of himself. âMy reason is you.â
Wei Wuxian tilted his head slightly, eyes widening a fraction again. âMe?â Something stirred in him, seeing Lan Wangjiâs expression shift into something like a frightened bunny. âHey, donât run away.â He held onto the otherâs sleeve tightly when the other attempted to turn away, unwilling to let him back out now. âStart talking, bunny.â
The tips of Lan Wangjiâs ears turned a dark pink. âBunny?â He frowned slightly, avoiding the question and the otherâs eyes despite not moving past the otherâs grip.
âYou look like a frightened bunny. So I'm calling you bunny.â He grinned, a hint of the sun within that Lan Wangji once loved to bask in silently hidden amongst the night. âIf my handsome Lan er-gege doesnât start talking, iâll sta-â
Lan Wangji claps his hand over the otherâs mouth, the demonic cultivatorâs eyes lifting with mirth at the prize heâd won seeing the crown of the otherâs cheeks also dust in rosy hues. âWei Ying!â
Despite his bodyâs immediate urge to quell his next move, his bright red tongue darting out to wet the otherâs palm in retaliation. Lan Wangji suddenly retracted his hand, cradling it to his chest like itâd been burned and stared at the other with somewhat wide eyes.
âLan Zhan, er-gege, my little bunny,â Wei Wuxian leaned forward, smiling in too knowing of a way to allow for comfort. âIt seems we have much to talk about.â
Wei Wuxian felt too heavy, it was hard to even lift his head.
âSo you refuse to cry, huh? Don't you want to show your true self?â The pirate donned in golds and dark browns lifted the mermanâs chin; the urge to rip his head away and bite the fuckerâs hand was an immediate response but the merman was so tired after being treated so roughly that he just leveled him with a glare instead.
Refusing to say anything to the detestable pirate, he turned his head away with as much force as he could muster. The pirate tsked and let him, standing up and brushing his hands off as if having touched something quite disgusting. âAlright. Think about it a bit longer then.â He adjusted his hat and left him there in the brig, bruised and bleeding.
He heard the pirate crew cheer once more and break out into a sea shanty soon after, deceivingly joyous. Wei Wuxian had once enjoyed the far-off sound of a sea shanty; now he wasnât sure heâd ever see it the same way again.
đ” Here's a health to the dear lass, that I love so well,
For her style and her beauty, sure none can excel,
There's a smile on her countenance, as she sits on my knee,
There's no man in this wide world, as happy as me đ”
He lifted his head, staring at the nearest crack in the boards to the sky. Seeing the moon shine so brightly into the darkness of the brig, he felt a renewed desire to move- to escape.
đ” Here's a health to the company, and one to my lass
Let us drink and be merry, all out of one glassÂ
Let us drink and be merry, all grief to refrain
For we may or might never, all meet here again đ”
The merman took a deep breath and grimaced as his arms changed, shifting into ethereal, shimmering blues and slipping through the chains that had once held him up against the wall and nearly falling to the floor once he had. He winced and rubbed his wrists, panting quietly as he listened to the sailors cheer and sing, eventually getting up to check the brig and see if there was some way he could get out.
đ” Our ship lies at anchor, she's ready to dockÂ
I wish her safe landing, without any shock đ”
Finding a small crack in the hull, he glanced back and around one more time to make sure no one was there before his body shifted, spilling like water through the cracks and back into the sea.Â
đ” If ever I should meet you, by land or by sea
I will always remember, your kindness to me đ”
He swam and swam and swam, the sound of their voices disappearing past the waves of water. All he could think about was to return to his travelerâs shadows. to rest.
Here's a health to the company, and one to my lass
Let us drink and be merry, all out of one glassÂ
Let us drink and be merry, all grief to refrain
For we may or might never,Â
all meet here again
đ”
Lan Wangji lifted his head and shielded his eyes from the sun, staring out over the glistening waters with a frown.
He hadnât been finding nearly as much lately. Usually, he found shells, stones, pearls, and all sorts of fantastic things. He always hoped it was his faceless savior, andâŠwell, now he was hoping it wasnât.
He folded his arms over his knees and watched the sea foam over the shore, worry heavy in his chest.

Part 2
· ⊠Who are you? âŠÂ ·
Wei Wuxianâs head tilted as he watched Wen Chao scramble to the hems of his torn robes and beg for his life. The blood red hues stared past his inky lashes, calm and deep at first, but then flaring with bright red fractals and a glow not unlike an iron brand that had once marked his chest.
He kicked the Wen away from his hems and narrowed his eyes, letting out a quiet sigh as if dealing with a rat rather than the heir of a sect. âDo not touch me.â He lifted his robe slightly so he could sit down, eyes narrowed and locked on to the disfigured pest.
âYou thinkâŠfor even a momentâŠI would ever have mercy on you?â His expression was so entirely cold, but his hair lifted slightly from the tremendous amount of resentment drifting off of him. âFunny, really. Didnât you want to make me scream? Cut off my hand?â His eyes narrowed as he turned his hand slowly for emphasis, that resentment billowing around him like a storm. âThatâs rightâŠI havenât done that yet, have I? Should I start with the leftâŠor the right?â Upon the last word, his voice dropped dangerously, venom practically dripping from his tongue.
Wen Zhuliu moved back into the picture, though this did nothing to phase the black-robed cultivator, if anything it only twisted his face further into something unsettling as if he was about to enjoy himself.
âWen ZhuliuâŠdo you really think you can protect his dog life from my hands?â
âBetter die trying.â
The cold laugh that bubbled up from Wei Wuxianâs throat set everyoneâs teeth on edge, no trace of his usual sunshine smile left in his voice. âWhat a loyal Wen-dog.â
The core-crusher opened his mouth, clearly about to continue their argument but then he was suddenly thrown to the ground by tendrils of resentment. Wei Wuxianâs face, shrouded half in shadow, had certainly lost its calm demeanor in the wake of an unsettling darkness. âJust gets funnier and funnier huh? Think Iâm going to listen to that nasty bark of yours? If youâre going to act like a dog, I'll make you yelp like one.â
âWei Ying!â
Wei Wuxian froze in his stance but seemed a little disappointed as Jiang Cheng took over by pinning Wen Zhuliu to the floor with Sandu. He sighed and leaned back in his seat, the glare in his eyes and resentment fading back into nothing, crossing one leg over the other as if nothing had just happened.
Wei Wuxianâs clothes were still very torn from his fall and the resentment that had scored his flesh, thighs, arms, shoulders- so much of his body was on display and he didnât even seem to notice. The wounds were no longer there, but he certainly didnât look like he was in a state to be running around.
Lan Wangji seemed to visibly hesitate a while longer while Jiang Cheng was double checking that their captives couldnât escape. âWei YingâŠyour clothesâŠâ
Wei Wuxian glanced down to his arm where the most of his skin was visible, turning it slightly as if he hadnât realized the ripped cloth hanging from it. âThey are quite torn.â He shrugs, folding his hands in his lap. âThe only replacements I could find were Wen robes, and I found that to be beyond my tolerance.â He stood soon after this, pulling his lapels a bit more properly on his shoulders as if trying to be a bit more modest, though he didnât seem to care if he actually was. âI have plenty of face to spare, but I do apologize for the rather unseemly appearance I'm sporting in front of Hanguang-Jun.â
Lan Wangjiâs expression flickered in conflict, seeming to be torn between two different contrasting emotions, but he finally settled on something neutral, pulling off the outermost robe he wore to drape over Wei Wuxianâs shoulders. âHereâŠitâs a cold night. Until we get back to the others and get you new robesâŠâ
Wei Wuxianâs head turned slightly to look at the robe on his shoulders. So large and white. His head tilted slightly, hand lifting to touch the embroidered hems in what appeared to be a mild curiosity. âMmm? I thought Lan Zhan didnât care for me.â
Lan Wangjiâs face twisted slightly, lips turning down slightly as if uneasy. âYouâre half dressedâŠâ He insisted, only to falter when Wei Wuxianâs face turned back to him, those eyes crescents in their mirth.
âYouâre quite a good man, and I know youâre quite upset with thisâŠâ Wei Wuxian gestured to himself, the torn robes and half-healed wounds beneath still as blatant as earlier. âBut I'm more concerned about the two guests in the room, and I wouldn't want to turn your white robes red.â He reached up, gently tapping the white-clad cultivatorâs nose. âSo why not take this back, hm?â He moved to remove the robe, but Lan Wangjiâs hand stopped him, a low set to his shoulders.
Lan Wangji sighed deeply. âKeep it. Itâs cold.â When he stepped back, he kept his eyes off the eerie smile that Wei Wuxian wore. It felt like he wasnât really looking at the same manâŠbut he couldnât just leave him like that. Even if his robes were stained beyond recognition, they were replaceable. Wei WuxianâŠhe was not.
Lan Wangji visibly paused however when he noticed something dark peeking out of Wei Wuxianâs lapels. ââŠWei Ying?!â
Alarmed by the sound of distress, Jiang Cheng quickly joined the group, face set in a serious frown. âWhatâs going on?â
Wei Wuxianâs lapels were forced open by Lan Wangji to reveal a large black stain on his stomach, trailing up from his abdomen not unlike a cursed mark. However, along the surface wisps of resentment licked his skin and had been streaming languidly from his loosened lapels, now revealed to be leaking out of any even partially open wound beneath. The red hues darkened slightly as if irritated, but said nothing to the sudden exposure. âAnd?â
âWhat do you mean, and?!â Jiang Cheng pursed his lips and swat Lan Wangjiâs hands away reflexively. âWhat happened? We were supposed to meet and when you show up you look likeâŠthis!â
Wei Wuxian straightened up the lapels quietly, though his face looked strangely quaint it was also quiteâŠcalculating. It was strange. âGot caught, got tossed somewhere not so niceâŠcame back.â He shrugged, the unsettling smile returning to his lips. âDonât worry, I'm feeling quite better than I was a while ago and it doesnât hurt.â
Jiang Cheng frowned and deflated slightly, having expectedâŠwell, justâŠsomething different than this. He pulled out Suibian and thrust it into Wei Wuxianâs hand. âWhatever, I've brought your sword, youâll need it to protect yourself on our way back.â
Wei Wuxian seemed surprised at first, turning the sword in his hands for a moment then smiling once more. âThank you.â
Jiang Chengâs face softened, but froze as the other held the sword back out to him.
âBut I cannot use it anymore.â
âWhat?â Jiang Chengâs pupils shrunk, wondering how his shixiong could have such a normal, smiling expression after telling him that he could no longer handle a sword.
âWell, if I were to use it I would get overpowered.â He sighed and held it out to Lan Wangji instead when Jiang Cheng wouldnât take it. âCould you hold onto this for me, for safekeeping?â
Lan Wangji tentatively took the sword in his hand, eyes lost as he looked at the scabbard. Eventually he did raise his gaze back to the swirling black on his abdomen and the othersâ unusual expression. Perhaps, due to the trauma of whatever heâd been through, he wasn't fit for battle right now. âWei YingâŠyou should allow yourself time to recover. It may not be good for you to-â
Wei Wuxian shook his head and smiled eerily, âThe dogs over thereâŠâ His eyes shifted to the two on the floor a few paces away, red hues glaring. âMe and Jiang Cheng still need to settle a few things with them. Right?â
âBut youâreâŠwait.â Lan Wangji moved in front of Wei Wuxian to stop him from continuing forward again. âYouâre currently wounded. Why donât we just get it over with and take you to camp? We need to take you to a healer.â
Wei Wuxianâs eyes darkened as they were lifted back up to the other man. âLan Wangji, I will happily go after we have taken care of our sect business.â
Lan Wangjiâs eyes widened slightly in surprise, but pressed still despite the sting his courtesy name from the otherâs lips brought. âWei Wuxian! Youâre hurt, and this cultivation will hurt you further!â His eyes darted about the otherâs face in conflict, before he spoke hesitantly once more. âCome back to Gusu with me.â
âTo Gusu?â The man blinked in surprise and tilted his head, frowning and squinting at the other. âWhy there? To punish me? Drag me through healer after healer to try to fix me?â His nose bridge scrunched up at the thought, but his eyelashes lowered in a regrettably beautiful and haunting way. âWe both know how much your sect hates my cultivation. And as it isâŠitâs too late to fix me, Light bearer.â

Under the Stars
Wei Wuxian giggled and slapped his shimmering tail against the pool of water from the caveâs shore, splashing his quiet companion. âLan Zhan this champagne stuff ain't half bad! Itâs really too bad it is a human thing!â He leaned against his husband, eyes turned up with mirth.
âMn. Wei Ying can drink it all.â Lan Wangjiâs eyelashes lowered in such an ethereal way, Wei Wuxian couldnât help but squirm closer with a wide smile.
âArenât you bored? It would be fun to drink a bit with me.â
Lan Wangji shook his head slightly and tilted his head back, looking at something along the ceiling. Wei Wuxianâs curiosity got the better of him and he followed his gaze, eyes reflecting thousands of small, wet crystals glistening with dim glowing light.
âIt's like weâre stargazingâŠâ Wei Wuxian couldnât help the giddy laughter that bubbled up from his chest. âLan Zhan, you romantic! Is this why you insisted we go here for this?â He smiled at the rosy shade on the crown of his husbandâs cheeks. Of course he had.
He leans against his belovedâs side and they admire the room of stars together, fingers tangled tightly in the hopes to never let go.

Part 3
· ⊠Excuses âŠÂ ·
Despite their qualms, Jiang Cheng and Lan Wangji both kept a tight lid on Wei Wuxianâs apparent handicap through the war and beyond. When it came to qualms over the carrying of his sword, Jiang Cheng was quick to defend and he figured this was one of the best ways to do it. Of course there were questions, but they were deflected with the best lie they could think of: the sword, Suibian, had been critically damaged before being recovered.
They both knew the sword was intact and well in Lan Wangji's custody though, and was glad the man remained silent despite their frequent arguments about his cultivation.
Wei Wuxian never made an attempt to rise up to the invasive questions, actually. Jiang Cheng took over every time he opened his mouth, and it seemed the man had no qualms about allowing the leader to take over every conversation that questioned him. The excuse of another sword being made was simply answered by âSuibian was important to my head disciple and we are working on plans to recover it after the war.â
After the war though, time ticked down quickly and the excuses were running dry. Asking about it however was like poking a hornet's nest, which was Jiang Cheng. His glares had gotten critical from the repeated irritation he showed every time the question was asked, which actually did a pretty good job warding off most cultivators who would ask.
Then, it was time for the Phoenix mountain hunt.
âWei WuxianâŠI donât think you should go.â Jiang Cheng was shining his sword, but lifted his head to look at his shixiong as he did so.
Wei Wuxian stopped twirling his flute, tilting his head in Jiang Chengâs general direction so they could see each other. âOkay. Why though?â
âMultiple reasons. Iâm tired of making excuses for you, for one.â Jiang Cheng sighed and squinted at the other, his hand stilling on his sword. âAnd the eyes are going to make people ask questions too. Canât you make them go back to their old color?â
âNot really, they're kind of stuck like this.â Wei Wuxian smiled, still as eerie as he was during the war. "Probably the ocean of resentment i'm carrying."
âAnd that! Why do you look like a demon now?? Youâre gonna get me in trouble with that eerie grin of yours!â Jiang Cheng huffed, finishing up his sword and sheathing it again. âIt was great for intimidating during the war, but you doing that nearly had sect leader Yao asking if we had bad intentions!â
âI won't deny it was absolutely great seeing him shrink back like he did. My face just looks like this though.â Wei Wuxian frowned, âIâm not sure how to change it.â
âWell thenâŠstop smiling in public I guess.â Jiang Cheng shrugged, throwing his hands up. âWe canât have the sects thinking youâre out to get them.â
âThose sects are filled with rotten eggs.â Wei Wuxian rolled his eyes, baffling Jiang Cheng in the process. It still surprised him every time, considering how different he acted now. âBut I will do my best to appease my shidi.â
Jiang Cheng groaned loudly and held his forehead. âAlright, I'm sick of you for today. Get out of here.â He waved his hand and pulled over a stack of letters he needed to get to. âIâve had enough âhelpâ from you today.â
Wei Wuxian hopped up from his seat and hummed. âAlright, if you say so.â He stood there in silence a bit longer, but Jiang Cheng was used to this strange behavior that Wei Wuxian had adopted. If Jiang Cheng called him out on it, it would only be met with an irritated glare, and despite his desire to kick him into his place for it, it was a harmless behavior despite its strangeness.
As if finally deciding something, Wei Wuxian saluted his sect leader and then strolled out of the office, off on his little adventure.
