oh how interesting! i love doing pullman forms. the corsac fox is definitely one of the more extroverted fox breeds and i could see as being fitting for an ESFP 6w7 in terms of behavior (though i might lean more towards the ESFJ... foxes often get put as Si/Ni though now i’m wondering if that’s just a stereotype bleeding into the analysis of behavior? anyway — neither here nor there), but i agree that it’s not a perfect fit for a pullman form.

the hedgehog and spaniel i think are great options! i’ll talk about my thoughts on each of them in detail and some other suggestions too!

so the hedgehog! a little amusingly (and tangentially), the hedgehog actually had a pretty negative reputation during medieval time. it was depicted as stealing the literal fruits of man’s labor using the spines on its back, and was an animal that was associated with the devil, even more devious than the fox. nowadays, the hedgehog is viewed much more favorably. i would put them primarily as symbols both of curiosity and of guardedness: perhaps a push-pull between the desire to know and explore, and the desire to stay safe and protect oneself. a very much bilbo baggins energy haha. nocturnal animals are often associated with intuition, being unconventional, or some sort of psychic/abnormal interest... in the case of the hedgehog, this seems to be linked primarily to its supreme wisdom. in a variety of cultures hedgehogs are portrayed as being a wise animal, primarily in a cryptic way, rivaling even deities’ intelligence. it is purposeful and docile, often also a symbol of connection to the earth. however it always has an emphasis on protection and self-preservation... very characteristic of the 6w7. it seems to me this animal symbolizes a sense of “wisdom beyond one’s years” — an acknowledgement of the vastness and harshness of the world, and a unique understanding of how to navigate it. the hedgehog is someone who endures and prevails, who embraces productivity and realizes the world does not reward stagnation. it guards the self but is simultaneously linked to mother earth and spirituality.

the spaniel is a sporting dog, described by TDF as embodying honesty, hard work, duty, humility, dependability, and affection... often with a sort of link to water or the outdoors. spaniels come in quite a few different breeds. i would expect the toy spaniels to symbolically be more of a symbol of comfort and companionship, regality and grace, and overall a comfortable and domestic life, while spaniels such as the water and field spaniel to have more of a connection to energy, pursuit and drive, outdoors and nature, etc. spaniels in particular are associated with docility, and gentleness, as well as such patience and respect, and, as you mentioned, loyalty, integrity, and trustworthiness. these are fast, dutiful companions. they are also symbolic of the hunt: of drive and pursuit, perhaps freedom and emotions as well, for the service of others. i would take into consideration what spaniel you associate the most with. appearance is so important for symbolic forms. would your spaniel daemon be show quality and groomed well? what color would it be? for an ESFP a blonde or ginger english cocker spaniel comes to my mind first, but really there are lots of options in this area. i think what’s just important to remember is that all domestic dog forms are going to be the sort of person who, at the end of the day, is submissive, humble, obedient, and eager to please.
