Hello, all! Admin Ghost here with a semi-long post about tomorrow & some announcements! 

Tomorrow, Friday the 13th at 10:30 a.m. CST, we will be officially opening! Super exciting!! Here are some specifics (timeline, current events, etc.) 

In our story, the date opening date is July 12th of 2038. We will determine the pace of the story once we reach a steady flow on the dash (i.e. how fast our story will progress compared to the game)

There have been reports of malfunctions / deviancy in androids, but they are NOT widely known. There have been a few cases of “theft” in Houston, where androids abandon either their stations or their owners and are not seen again. Not considering the possibility of the androids willingly leaving, the Houston police have declared this the work of a serial theif. 

Red Ice is an especially prevalent problem in Houston at this time, and studies are showing that arrest due to the possession or consumption of red ice is at an all time high for the state. 

There is a current civil suit between the local Eden Club and one of their customers who refuses to pay for the loss of one of their service models, a HR400. The customer claims the android assaulted him and fled, which the Eden Club claims is a lie to avoid the charges.

Detroit: Become Human, while presenting interesting concepts and ideas, also appropriates American antiblackness to further their plot. Antiblackness is not a narrative tool, and for people to use it as such is incredibly ignorant. 

While we follow a parallel narrative to Detroit: Become Human, our focus will not be on the oppression of androids. We will focus on the philosophical questions raised and the concepts of humanity, identity, and autonomy. We will address the morality of displacing millions of workers in favor of cheap machine employment. We will address the complexities of humans accidentially creating intelligent life that is superior to them. 

We hear and understand the problems with Detroit: Become Human. We will continue to listen and prioritize our member’s and the community’s security and comfort. While we will address some issues which may be uncomfortable or triggering (such as domestic violence), we will do it in a way that is respectful and thoughtful. The admin team here is one of the best I’ve ever worked with, and our players are bright and creative people. We seek to challenge ourselves as writers and to develope the ideas that DBH ultimately neglected.
