“What?” Han Sooyoung snaps, when she picks the phone.

“I think Jung Heewon might like me,” Sangah says, voice faint.

Han Sooyoung crackles. “What? You finally realised it?” She says, like it’s a fact, a common sense thing — Sangah should know it, as she knows the sky is blue and her name.

Sangah feels weak in her legs. She sits down.

If Han Sooyoung thinks so too, it must be true. She isn’t just deluding herself, is she? But… just in case…

She calls Kim Dokja and Lee Seolhwa and Sookyung-Ahjumma and Yoo Joonghyuk — who isn’t in fact helpful at all and says, in a flat voice, “is this why you called” before immediately hanging up but sends a follow up text that reads: why are you asking something so obvious — and calls Jang Hayoung, too.
