What is it about 2doc that is so inspiring to you? As I mentioned before, you have more AUs than anyone I have ever seen; all of your AUs feature Stu and Murdoc in some degree of romantic entanglement with one another. I agree that 2doc is an interesting and surprisingly inspiring dynamic, but what about these two in particular has inspired all of this creativity from you? 🐺
Honestly, that's a good question. I really don't know how to properly answer that, but I'll give it a shot.
Part of the appeal is I see a lot of potential for a relationship between them. There is a long history between them, bad and good, and it's easy to draw on that to create romantic situations. I see a lot of myself in Murdoc as well and from that it's a lot easier for me to create AUs or adventures. And really, isn't it fun to put your favourite characters through different scenarios to see how they'd fit?
I've been a story teller since I was able to talk and it's not an exaggeration lmao, my most famous "when Jakki was a kid" story is me captivating an audience of 20 adults at a bonfire party when I was 5. I can be very talkative and good at keeping people drawn in. I think I just learned to take what minimum there is in a fandom and run with it. Before Gorillaz it was Final Fantasy and I have probably over 100 different AU/story concepts or RPs I did from that fandom.
Mainly I think what you can take away from my rambling is that I am at my core a very passionate story-teller. It doesn't have to be 2D & Murdoc, or Zack & Reno (final fantasy) or any two/three/more characters for me, I just need a spark of inspiration and I can create a story from nothing. There are original concepts I have had on the back burner for years upon years that I intend to touch on again one day.
