Synopsis:
Disciple is a Christian Metalcore band from the infamous Erie PA HC scene. Usually I shy away from Chrisitian bands or religious bands in general however there are some that get exceptions, Sons of Abraham, 108, Shelter, Prema, Strongarm, Furthers Seems Forever are examples. Disciple has joined this group with this release. Although I won't include a lot of their other stuff as I tend to feel they got more and more generic as they went on, this 7″ is a fine release. There is definitely an Erie scene sound here like Brothers Keeper, but I also here some Snapcase, Earth Crisis, Green Rage, etc. here to. Lots of E crunch and breakdowns that will take you right back to the 90s SXE and Vegan HC scenes. Lots of spoken parts as well which is reminiscent of the time period.
With this release SAMob/Surprise Attack upped their game similar to Initial Records and other up and coming labels of their time. Very glossy, striking colors, and very eye catching. Again, many would tend to skip over due to the christian themes, but dont short yourself with this one. It includes a nice insert as well with live shots which is always a boon for me.

Synopsis:
Upon first hearing, one can make the argument that this release belonged on New Age or Doghouse Records as it reminds me a lot of Dayspring, Colossus of the Fall, and those types. Screamy emo...real emo not the crap around today. Lots of groove and passion. I imagine frosted hair, head bands, and chain wallets abound. Even the Sinclair like artwork falls in line with the era as in Hot Water Music and Snapcase.
SA Mob always seemed to put together a nice package. At time it didn't always match the release but with this one its pretty spot on, although some might think they were in for something along the lines of Hot Water Music based on the Scott Sinclair style artwork. Very polished looking front and back with insert included.
