When you read a fic by @messy-insomniac-bookgirl for the Jupiter Ascending fandom and fall firmly down the rabbit hole because - FUDGE I love that film! - only to be mildly 'meh' at what's on offer.

Then you make the mistake of watching the movie again because "Yes, please!" and come away with an idea that you're not going to write.

So there I was, running a game of D&D, the group is playing their characters from an earlier campaign that took place 30 years prior to this one after they became accomplished heroes.

Well anyways, they approached the big enemy; who they assumed was my world's version of Vecna, an evil lich who desired godhood. In the earlier campaign, they defeated then-human Vecna and destroyed him, and it became a big mystery of how he came back. Well, he didn't. "Vecna" was actually the son of one of the heroes. In the last campaign, the group played the children of the heroes, who all aspired to reach the same fame as their parents.
