okay i have a question. does matt (in current canon) remember that he made mike up? i feel like he doesn't
Probably not. Frustratingly, this has not been addressed yet, but since reality was changed to completely overwrite any instance of Mike not existing, it wouldn’t make much sense for Matt to remember how things were previously. For the record, Zdarsky has said (though only off-panel so far) that Matt still pretended to be Mike in the 60s, he was just pretending to be his actual brother now.
My feeling is that the only person who might have a chance of remembering the previous reality is Mike himself, since he was the one who engineered the change. The only reason why someone else might remember would be if the reality rewrite went wrong in some way-- which would be extremely cool, but hasn’t happened yet.
