this is my first proper release in almost 3 years. i’m way too perfectionist about my art and that’s why i made it the m.o. of my latest work to avoid any overthinking about the quality of production (which is impossible and obviously i didn’t succeed. otherwise, this would’ve been out wayyyyy earlier).

anyways, many things have changed in my life since my first album. i gained more confidence in my art through meeting inspiring and supportive people, but also by following the wonderful @womenofnoise community. so thank ya’ll for being a constant source of inspiration! i also came out as a queer girl and started using different pronouns publicly which was a scary step but was also met with great support of my dear friends, romantic partners, and professors at my university. still, my mental issues and body dysphoria go harrrrdd sometimes and that’s when i usually sit down to work on my tracks. i used to tell people that my artist name is partly inspired by the fact that making noise works as some kind of therapy for me. getting all the poison and self-hate out of my system by creating something more or less meaningful. the past years have been a painful but rewarding journey for me and some of it is documented in the (non)music on this album. i would appreciate it very much, if you’d give it a listen and told me what you think of it, and more importantly, what it made you feel. i would also appreciate it if anyone who can afford it, buys my stuff. times are hard right now and i can hardly afford rent, health care, and university fees right now.

This is a neW albuM & i made it. It's also a noise music album. So if you're into monochrome musicc that's LOUD EXPERIMENTAL UGLY but also PRETTY somehow, then THE GIRL might be just for u. This is my first album so i'm still really really raelly insecure about opening up aRtiSTicAlly to whoever wants to listen.. making a a_social media PRomo post is also kinda weird to me but whateves. thx for listening & reading 🖤 dont tell me if u didnt like it but show it to ur weirdo friends maybe :))

The experimental music project Sam Therapy was started in 2018 in Hanover, Germany. Sam's songs are informed by minimal electronic beats, synthesized soundscapes, and noisy production.

DIE KNOCHEN SIND STARR UND KALT KRACH UND RUHE SIND DAS FLEISCH

Because he doesn't play any instruments, Sam got his start in music experimenting with nothing but a laptop and musical samples sent to him by his brother. Fascinated by the sound of digital distortion and inspired by the likes of David Lynch, Lana Del Rabies, Scott Walker, Nine Inch Nails, Einstürzende Neubauten, and Xiu Xiu, he taught himself the foundations of beat programming and song arrangement.

THE GIRL WITH THE SUN IN HER HEAD is the result of these solitary sessions. The bulk of the songs where written in 2021 around themes of isolation, depression, and addiction. The world that is painted is black, white, and grey. However, THE GIRL WITH THE SUN IN HER HEAD is not all gloom and doom as the album represents a purifying exorcism. Music as therapy.
