I want to take a moment to talk about the most foolproof piece of gear I used on this tour: the @salvagecustom board that @elgtsco so graciously allowed me to borrow. Because space was limited in our vehicle—Vanessa's Corolla—there was no way I was bringing a board the size of Battlestar Galactica. I hit up Gabriel, who was the only person I knew that had something compact and already outfitted with the power supply I needed, the @walrusaudioeffects Phoenix. My man came through in a big, big way. The Salvage board is impeccably crafted, with each piece a perfect fit and expertly secured. The covering is top-notch, and the thing is designed thoughtfully for quick setups and tear downs, with all of the connections on the outside of the fold-out portion of the board. It felt classy as hell to walk on stage, undo the latches, fold out the board, and plug in three cables and be ready to go before the sound pro at the board had even moved a fader. Even with my Pedaltrain rig, it's never felt THIS simple. Having all the connections on the side of the unit made so much sense, especially that on/off switch that I never knew I needed. And popping off the Velcro-covered face of the thing (which I did a few times because of pedal changes) revealed beautiful wiring of all inputs. The real benefit of a board like this: the elimination of stress, or at least, one component of the stress that can be waiting for the working musician as he or she takes the stage. Though it's only been in my stead for a short time, it was absolutely the thing I never had to worry about. I love this board. Sure, it's expensive, but I totally get why: something so well-designed and masterfully-built is worth it, I think. Thank you, Gabriel. And thank you, Daniel.
