Chief Constable James Clark was informed that four men invaded John Burns’ orchard near Redhill, demanded fruit and proceeded to help themselves. Calling for assistance from two Indian helpers, Burns’ son grappled with the intruders and overpowered them, only to have the tables turned before police arrived. Search of the township failed to locate the men who carried bags and baskets to transport their loot.
