Do you have an opinion (aside from them being funny) about the two most prominent Yakuza memes of âKiryu never killed anyone/Kiryu didnât kill them, the bullets didâ and the Yakuza series producer Masayoshi Yokoyamaâs opinion that Kiryu is a virgin? (his thought process being he was in love with Yumi but didnât make a move because Nishiki, then went to jail and then...nothing after that I guess)
hi! sorry i wanted to write a decent response to this when i first saw it and then i forgot o(-<
character spoilers inbound
as a serious topic of discussion uh
iâd say heâs never killed senselessly. maybe murder in self-defense isnât super super justified (looking at the car chase sequences and that part in 6 where kiryu blows up a helicopter and other similar moments) but thatâs like a whole other part of the argument thatâs too much thinking for my brain
kiryu also says heâs never claimed to be a saint, so the self-defense thing kinda fits there
in regards to ryuji, had he not fought kiryu earlier before getting shot, he probably would have survived (and he definitely would have been fine going two rounds with kiryu if he hadnât been shot at all)
for the second part, i......donât really know lol
0 implies???? that heâs not??????? but itâs also kinda funny if he is
more than anything iâm just sad that kiryuâs like....ânot allowedâ to fall in love and have a family of his own, not after yumi and kaoru. if his heart had always been with yumi then i could have believed him being a virgin, but then kaoru became a love interest of sorts in the following game and that kinda threw the idea out the window
and then she vanished too so uh. yeah,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
edit: by the kaoru bit i meant that having her be romantically involved with kiryu sort of showed that he was willing to try moving on with someone else, even though he doesnât actually get with anyone after kaoru leaves
