It depends on what you want to paint!
From my experience with Sho, and my research when I was going to be Sollux here's what I know:
I first used Kryolan Aquacolor water based liquid paint for Sho, and it worked GREAT, except it needed lots of touchups through the day at it rubbed off on anyone/thing I touched. Basically my left arm was useless.
I've now switched to Reel Creation's body ink (alcohol based) and it works fanatically It still gets a bit of wear on my hand and it tends to stain for a day or two in some spots. This method requires a sealant. I use Ben Nye's final set for a sealant, and then go over it with translucent powder from Ben Nye as a setting powder.However, I wouldn't use this extensively on my face and it requires a remover. Trust me, I tried using 97% isopropyl and it took almost a huge bottle of it, took forever, and the bathroom was unusable for sometime because of the smell.Â
I've heard great things about grease pain for your face, but if you apply it wrong you can break out hella bad. It's not the best for bodies either since it has a tendency to rub off. It should also be set!
And I hear PAX is amazing, but it tends to stain? And I've also never used latex (I met a Sho using liquid latex and didn't care for how it looked). I mean I shave my arm for Sho anyways for best paint application but if you miss anything latex will rip that shit out.
I DUNNO. Those are my two cents. I really like my alcohol based method, but I am thinking about switching to a glove after A-kon simply because it's quicker, easier, and then I don't have to go into work with a black hand the next day.
