It was their first real date outside of Hogwarts and Draco was immensely nervous. Even though he and Harry had been dating for nearly 3 years now, this was the first time they were to be out in public together and Draco wanted it to be perfect, though as long as he was with Harry, it would already be perfect. Draco had made plans for them to go to a nice coffee shop for lunch and walk around London, just being boyfriends.
“Draco, are you almost ready?” Harry called from down the hall in the one bedroom flat they shared. “I’ve been waiting for like an hour now!”
“Oh, stop complaining, it hasn't been that long,” Draco replied. He ran a hand through his white blond hair, positioning it just right, the way Harry liked it. Draco went to their closet and pulled out Harry’s black leather jacket he had gotten from Sirius; Harry always loved the way it looked on him. He threw it on and picked up the bouquet of flowers he had gotten and emerged from the bedroom.
“Bloody hell..” Harry exclaimed, his mouth falling open at the sight of his boyfriend. Is this really all mine? Harry asked himself.
“For you, Mr. Potter.” Draco bowed dramatically, holding out the flowers to Harry, who took them, inhaling deeply. He had always loved the scents of flowers. “Should we head out then?” Draco asked, smirking at Harry’s dreamy expression.
“Uh, yeah, let’s go.” Harry intwined his arm with Draco’s and they left the flat together.
They walked to downtown London, hand in hand. Even though they caught some looks, they couldn't care because they were the happiest they had been in a while.
“Here it is,” Draco said, pointing at the small coffee shop on the other side of the street. They jogged across the street, hurrying before any cars got too close.
“Oh, look! We can even sit outside,” Harry pointed out.
“Why don't you grab a table while I get our drinks?” Harry nodded in reply and took a seat at one of the small tables in front of the shop. He set the flowers down softly on the table, not wanting any of the petals to fall off. He’d have to put them in some water when they got home.
Draco arrived back at the table a few minutes later, carrying two drinks and a small bag. Harry raised an eyebrow at the bag. What else was he spoiling him with?
Draco sat down across from Harry and placed the drinks down in front of them. He pulled out two big chocolate chip cookies from the bag and set them down next to the coffees. Harry picked up his drink and took a sip.
“You remembered,” He grinned.
“Of course I remembered. Who do you think I am?” Draco joked.
The two of them sat and talked about nothing in particular. Their topics ranged from their memories at school to what they’d be having for dinner that night. Draco cherished the fact that he could talk to Harry about anything and everything.
Once they finished their drinks, they took care of their garbage and walked to the park down the street. Harry led Draco to a bench he saw on the edge of the grass overlooking the park. They sat down next to each other and Draco turned to Harry, giving him a small peck on the cheek.
“We should get a dog,” Harry said as he watched a couple in the distance throwing a frisbee to their Golden Retriever. He fantasized about having a pet with Draco before, being able to take care of it and raise it together. It’d be perfect.
“Anything you want, love,” Draco replied, draping his arm around Harry and pulling him closer. Harry turned his head, gazing at the beauty that was Draco Malfoy. How had he been so lucky? He leaned in, interlocking their lips and kissing him deeply. Harry tugged on Draco’s lip as he pulled back to catch a breath. Draco inhaled sharply. Harry knew how much this drove him crazy which made him love it even more.
“Why don't we head home?” Draco suggested with a wink.
