FINALLY!!!!

It's done! My piece for Kiss Ryuji Day 2024! Four days late! (; _ ;) I've always wanted to draw Pegoryusumi and I finally did! Thank you everyone who supported the WIP that was posted before.

i meant to respond to this sooner but YES ABSOLUTELY, i think about them a lot

i just really genuinely feel like they'd be good matches for each other!!! i imagine sumire would have a hard time connecting with the rest of the phantom thieves without joker after the end of the game—they were all kind to her, sure, but even if it was only in her kasumi persona joker is still the only one she really built up a friendship with over the rest of the year. the rest of the group all have friendships with each other that she's not part of. but ryuji's such a sweetheart and a really easy person to get along with, so i think he'd make perfect sense as the person to bridge the gap between her and the rest of the thieves to help her connect with them again. plus between ryuji trying to seriously get back into physical therapy and sumi trying to push forward with her gymnastics they have a built-in shared hobby that doesn't have to do with school or the PTs, they could go to the gym together!

i think a partner who'd be able to cut right through sumi's doubts about herself would be really good for her too and ryuji shows that so often. like, he doesn't even like akechi and he's still the one to say "of course you're special" in the engine room. he'd be so blunt and earnest with her in a way i think she'd really benefit from. plus there's a bunch of details that imply she's definitely the type of girl he'd be into as well, like him saying in P5D that he'd like an elegant girl he can protect, or the poster in his room being of a cute, fine-featured girl with red hair:

or the fact that he's excited about the idea of girls calling him senpai:

and then there's some really cute scenes in the game like how when sumi fails to summon cendrillon right before her true awakening, ryuji's the first one to try and rush to protect her when he realizes she's in danger:

or how disappointed he is when he doesn't get a chance to teach her about the metaverse (and futaba teases him about it):
