was thinking about this one. and was going to settle on 'oh well differences in endgame romance and gender and such arent so much divergences as the result of the heteronormativity and cissexism generally in place in this world's media, that doesnt really count right..'

and then i remembered like basically all of millennium world. well ok. well a lot of that was just.. things offscreen from the readers viewpoint.. that hardly counts.. right.. just because i helped build all that and hoped for the best for him..

(its definitely divergent that i have memories from inside that particular shadow game, though, i fear. oops)

even after everything, i loved monster world so, so much. it was said everyone in domino had a game that was special to them - for a lot of people that was duel monsters, of course, and i did love it a lot myself! but monster world had my heart.

every aspect, from building elaborate maps, to painting minis, to researching monsters and folklore to include or allude to, to fully writing personalised campaigns.. what, you think the ring spirit could do all that by itself? ♡

i DID spend a little while afraid to actually play once everything was all over, but once i realised that it was less that i was afraid of something bad happening and more that i was afraid it wouldnt be as fun without shadow magic, i managed to shake it off pretty fast!
