The cafe was a place that Hana went regularly, somewhere she could work on grading and lesson plans and actually enjoy being outside of her place. It had started out as any other day, Hana setting up her things at a corner table before ordering a drink and something to eat, going up to the counter when the order was called. She got up there, reaching for the order at the same time as another woman came to grab hers. “Oh, sorry—” she looked up as she shifted to get out of the way, pausing when it clicked in her head just who she was face to face with.

Hana recognized the woman from the various articles, the magazines, but from the Instagram posts especially on Kal’s feed. She tried not to look, had him blocked for the most part anyways, but she couldn’t help herself. The pictures reminding her of a decade ago where she stood in the same spot. She was the same age as Hana was when she ended everything after all. “Rylan, right?” Hana couldn’t help herself in blurting, “I’m sorry, I just—I recognize you. You’re stunning.” She said easily with a warm smile, “it’s nice to meet you.”

Location: the internet​

Bel looked intently at her laptop screen. Carefully, she read the ad she had posted a few weeks ago, went through all the specifics and her portfolio, and wondered if there was something wrong with it. It had been a while since her last freenalce job, and even though she understood that sometimes the holidays made everything more difficult, money was already starting to run low and she couldn’t keep on living off of his father’s groceries. 

She checked out the other pages she had posted ads on and sighed. Maybe it was time she accepted her dad’s offer to start working on his company and forget about trying to make a successful life on her own. Or maybe she should just start sending applications to more companies...

Reaching out for her ipad, she began doodling a few ideas she had thought of in the morning. That, until she head her phone buzz with a new notification. 

The air was crisp, ripe with the promise of an impending winter. And, truth be told, Maya couldn’t be happier. Sure, she loved the sun on days where all her worries came rushing to the surface, but there was nothing like a cold day in the city, wrapped up in a coat and a scarf, waiting in line to get a hot beverage with too much sugar.
