“Please, come to our muse concert~!” Kotori had been handing out posters for an upcoming live muse would be performing. It was a bit hecktic, and Kotori was pretty tired.. Working on designs, practice, her job at the maid cafe, and then handing out fliers... When she caught sight of a familiar pianist she had seen before, she waves her hand ar him with a happy grin.

Despite how eventful the past few years were, Yuri couldn’t say she had any particular regret regarding how she was as a person and how she was turning out as she grew up. But there was still one thing she wished she got to learn however: How to play the piano.

She had to attend a lecture in some huge school far from Kibougahana. It was a bother, but it was required for her cursus, so there was no helping it. After the underwhelming lesson, rather than directly heading home, the young woman figured she could maybe explore the building and its surrounding at her discretion.

Something in her guts was telling her it was a good idea.

One of the first room she found was a music room. And right at its entrance was a piano.

Yuri felt drawn to the instrument on the moment. She approached it and rested her hand over the white keys, pressing some of them at random. And when she found the right tone, she played the same three notes in a loop. La. Do. Mi. La. Do. Mi. La. Do. Mi. The first notes of Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata. A very nostalgic melody to her.

Her aimless repetition of the same three notes soon stopped, however, as she realized she wasn’t alone. A young boy - probably a student here - was sitting at one of the tables around the room.

1. As Rusty and Kousei get to know each other, they often just go play together randomly in parks with keyboards, both trying to outplay the other, though sometimes Kousei has to admit defeat even if that’s something he doesn’t often see outside of his two rivals. Often it ends with the two of them garnering a large audience, though Kousei doesn’t realize at all till he hears the clapping and looks up too see many people standing near them. 

2. Sometimes Kousei is just dumb about technology so Rusty has to sit him down and be like, “Kousei that’s not how the computer works, you’re going to destroy it.” And in retaliation, Kousei starts quizzing Rusty on his music history for the college classes he took. It never works because Kousei just feels too awkward to even tease Rusty.

3. On one of his bad days, Kousei just stays at home and bashes at his piano for hours, but sometimes Rusty comes over and just nitpicks at him, bringing food so that the depressed pianist still functions. They don’t talk to each other about these emotions, but Kousei does appreciate the distraction.

Lifting an eyebrow at the other boy’s statement, Kousei couldn’t help but internally scoff at him. While he acknowledged skill when he saw it, and Russel had loads of it, Kousei was also just as prideful of his playing as any other pianist. Still, if there was one thing that his mother taught him, being polite was mandatory, not only to your fellow musicians and  competitors, but everyone.

So he smiled politely, lifted his hand up, and offered it to the other boy. “That was indeed a fantastic performance.” Nodding he held his other arm out to the exit, “there’s a wonderful bakery come cafe that I go to quite often. We can go there if you like?” He didn’t mention that he knew the owners much too well, and that they always gave him extra sweets to take home. 

Kousei allowed his mind to wander to their performance, and couldn’t help the skip of his heart. Playing music with others always left Kousei feeling charged and alive. It was truly a beautiful feeling to be in sync with another person on such an intimate level.

           The keyboardist of the light music club huh? This was who senpai was talking to at lunch.. They didn’t even deserve to so much as glance at him! How dare they think such a thing was ok? No matter. They would be punished soon enough. Sliding open clubs door, Ayano smeared on a smile.
