Here’s the full picture breakdown for the Al/Doll parallel:

Try to push friend away from them moment so they won’t see dark condition of body (though for a protective reason in Al’s case)

Hide the truth from friend(s) after bodies break down (Al wiping the blood off his face and keeping Kain’s explanation and his concerns to himself vs Doll hiding from Snake after body breakdown)

Friend(s) find out and are horrified

Then guilty over condition and friend(s) are concerned on top of the horror from earlier

Continuing from the parallel and based on what we know of Snake, he’d most likely be concerned about Doll and want to help her. However, the ability to do something about the condition is the point at which things break off from RB.

In RB, it was a temporary condition coming out as sporadic bursts of bloodlust that increased the more Al drank from Kei. Kei was able to snap Al out of it at the end and Al left to protect his friends from it.

However, the craving for the future over all else appears to be the very basis for the bizarre dolls as the replacement of a soul. In contrast to Al, I think Doll is permanently forced to stay a monster and pursue vengeance because of that programming. How will Snake handle this condition?

In RB, Kodachi said they would fight it no matter how many times it happened (though Al left anyway since the situation was too dire), but will Snake have to fight to end it for good?

Ace certainly seems to feel a bit like Jou in the sense of more of his punk aspect, so more early cocksure Jounouchi. He also kind of reminds me a bit of one of her main characters from Rust Blaster, namely Aldred, who has Ace's cockiness and some of his more goofiness.

I have to admit I myself “skipped” over Yana’s past works too because the sub-genre (shota-con) she as Yanao Rock concerned herself with is insufferable to me. I did read Rust Blaster, and I remember finishing it, putting it down and smiling: “I am so glad Yana improved.”

Now about the musical DVDs. Yes, don’t worry! In order to produce the musical, MKP had to buy the rights, which goes to Yana of course. And in order to produce and sell the DVDs, Yana also needs to be paid for the rights. For every renewed demand, the producers buy more rights from Yana to do so.

Japan has very strict rules about rights, even to the point that a person’s face can have “rights of personal portrayal” (肖像権 Shouzouken) which requires a third party to buy a license to use said face. This strictness is the reason Alan and Eric could never become Yana’s own unless she buys them, for example. So it is extremely unlikely that Yana’s rights will be infringed behind closed doors. The reason non-Japanese stores don’t sell Kuromyu DVDs officially (only through proxy) is because overseas sellers have not bought the rights from MKP and Yana.
