Love, humanity, and memory are explored in this epic and intimate science fiction film from Andrei Tarkovsky. Based on the novel by Stanislaw Lem, a widowed psychologist is sent to a space station orbiting a planet called Solaris, in an attempt to discover what has caused a death. Once there, he is faced with numerous oddities, including a crew suffering with mental issues, and the appearance of his wife, who has been dead for several years.
