I had two Ortho appointments yesterday two hours away from home, have physical therapy for now three issues scheduled twice a week through the end of August, and have ENT for the Sinus Infection That Doesn’t End scheduled. Annnnnd the end game for SSDI after six years. It’s a lot. So, I polished off my Barnes and Noble membership discount card and hit the yearly @criterioncollection 50% sale, which I have never done before now. I deserve it. And I was able to snag three of my favorites. The Robin Williams extras on The Fisher King are going to make me cry happy tears. The Night of the Living Dead contains the original print that was tossed into Romero’s trunk when it was completed! It actually has three different restored alternate prints of the movie. 🖤 And The Silence of the Lambs contains interviews with profiler @johndouglasmindhunter, four different documentaries about the movie, and Wait for it 38 extra minutes of the movie. Excuse me while I have a moment. I swear I left my body when I read that in the store. I took a extra photo of the gorgeous cover of Silence because I am obsessed with the Rorschach death’s-head moth. I also have a special relationship with that film because I first saw it at our little second run theater on campus during undergrad at @ncsu with my best friend, who is still my best friend after all these years. I never treat myself to stuff like this, because, well, I don’t work anymore. But movies, especially horror movies, help me escape my brain telling me I am in pain and should panic and run now. My lizard brain gets very confused by the 24-7 chronic pain. Horror movies (and novels) engross me and my lizard brain fully.
