What if Susan saw the ears? What if multiple people in Gravity Falls love their local cat man? Stanley? He sharpens his claws on things... and Boyish Dan makes him a scratcher. Susan is his local Nip dealer. Someone from the lake giving Ford a fishing rod with a feather dangler at the end.

But Ford's the only one allowed to give him cheek rubs at the corners of his mouth, to run his fingers through Stan's hair, to make his brother mew into pillows...

Hehehehe!!! I like this idea! GF is a weird little town with weird folks, and somehow they ended up loving Cat!Stan. Stan will be a little suspicious of the others. But in the end, I think his heart will melt...

I also love the idea that Susan will persistently try to befriend Stan because she thinks he's a fellow cat lover and she's just so determined to show it, lol. She knows Ford as "the mysterious scientist", so she was surprised to see all the cat-themed stuff.

About your question: originally, that's how I planned it. But it's been a while, and I've changed my mind about a lot of things. I realized Old!Ford wouldn't open up like that... because he thinks he's the one who killed Stanley, not Bill. And even if it was Bill, Ford still helped make it happen. He needs to get Stanley on his side, maybe even make him feel sorry for him? You could see that as part of the manipulation.

Like "I got abandoned, so now I'm looking for another Stanley to stay with me."

This is the original storyboard. I just did a quick sketch to figure out what goes where and why. And yeah, you can totally tell they're not the prettiest, which is exactly why I'm redoing the whole thing. At that point I was more focused on the events themselves than on making the panels varied

Fun fact! If you can even call it that. This was originally supposed to be a gen story, but I was going through a really tough time back then, and I also got sick. I just thought, screw it... I should follow my heart and do what I actually want!!!!!!

And in that scene from ch 4, they were literally just hugging... Right in front of 30!Ford, by the way! He just stood there watching, angry, but he knew Old!Ford was leaving, so Stanley could hug whoever he wanted

And after old!Ford says he killed Stan, 30!Ford replies that it's his own damn fault. And when I reread that, I thought it sounded so ridiculous! Like, 30!Ford would probably just tense up and kick Old!Ford out of the car... he's not about to take any dumb risks.

Little CreepyOldFord x 30 y/o Stan idea ahead!

Thought this would be fun to share bc stancest. Anyhow! I’m working on a little wip where essentially, Ford lost his Stan in weirdmageddon (death by memory gun. What a classic)

After the kids go home, he sails out to the arctic circle alone, (using the brutal isolation an hard labor of sailing solo as a punishment)

But then whu-oh, spontaneous portal shenaniganery happens and now there’s a hypothermic, 30 year old Stan collapsed on the deck. From another dimension where he had gotten lost in the blizzard on the way to Ford’s cabin. Old Ford sees this as his chance to protect Stan from his impending future, and decides “Yup. Keeping you. You’re safer here :) with me :) where nobody can ever hurt you again :) “

And when Stan wants to go back, he shit talks Stan’s other ford like “he wasn’t equipped to help you. In fact, he would’ve hurt you after you got there. And no matter what you do, he would never let you forget about the project. Whereas I know it was only an accident.”

And Fords being so creepy without really comprehending it. He thinks he’s being helpful.

Stan may be incredibly weirded out, and this ford may be old, but he’s also really nice to him? And genuinely wants him around? Plus they’re both starved for attention and praise sooooooo

AHSASAHHAHAAHA OMMMGGG YESSSSS YESSSSSS My favorite plot twists are right here! I gotta say, that 'Stan got lost in the blizzard on his way to Ford' twist literally killed me, ahahaha... Stan will find his Ford no matter where he goes, btw! That's literally the core of their bond, mate..

I might be wrong, but isn't there this multiverse theory that we've actually died so many times already, and we just happen to be in the dimension where we're still alive? So mb 30!Stan really would've died if it weren't for that 'whu-oh' and now he's here, with a hyper-overprotective Ford (uoooghhhhhhhhhhhh yessssss * drooling*).

And old!Ford's all "Look, that Ford literally left you for dead!!" (Yeah, Ford, your Stan got really lucky, ahhsashaajs... or not... 💀 SORRY SORRRRYYYYYY)

It's honestly such a heartbreaking choice Stan will have to make. Because here with Old!Ford, he gets to live the life he always wanted... but his Ford is out there needing help... And if this Ford tells him about the future, about how they won't see each other for 30 years... Stan might start questioning whether he's telling the truth. It'll feel like Ford is just manipulating him to keep him here...
