Stan who just straight up moves into Ford’s house once Ford moves to Gravity Falls. Just invites himself in and refuses to leave. “Wherever we go, we go together, remember?”
Ford is shocked and angry that Stan is just showing up now after all these years and acting like nothing ever happened between them. Stan tells him he would’ve moved in with Ford earlier, but there wasn’t really an opportunity with Ford living in the college dorms and all. But Stan hung around the Backupsmore area, Ford just didn’t see him.
“Figured I’d let you cool off for a while and work on those fancy degrees you wanted,” Stan tells him. “Since you were so adamant about them and all, wanting to throw away our dream so quickly just because some university big-wigs come around and think you’re special.”
Stan who’s been keeping an eye on (stalking) Ford all this time. Being a nice brother and letting Ford get the education he wanted. Letting Ford have some years to himself without Stan clinging to him so closely.
“But you’re done with that now, right?” Stan smiles. “You got your independence and your moment to shine in school. Now it’s time to go back to how things always were. How things should be. You and me, taking on the world together.”
Ford tries to call the cops to have Stan removed from his house, but the police in gravity falls are rather incompetent, and Stan talks circles around them until they’re convinced that Stan is supposed to be living there. Ford is left unable to get rid of his brother. Nothing he says will make Stan leave. Anytime he tries to shut Stan out or change the locks, Stan just picks them and gets in anyway.
They get into a fight, but Stan has always been stronger than him and Ford loses. Stan pats him on the back after and tells him to brush up on his boxing skills.
And Ford finds himself just. Stuck with his brother. Just like when they were teenagers. Stan brings up sailing sometimes, but seems fairly content to just follow Ford on research trips in the woods. Ford tries to lose him in there multiple times, but somehow Stan always makes his way back.
Ford faces the fact that he’ll just have to readjust back to having a clingy and codependent twin that suffocates him. Because no matter where he goes, Stan will follow. And he has Ford’s back, he does. He protects Ford, encourages him. But he never leaves. Ford just has to learn to accept that Stan will always be there. Always.
