17. describe a near-death experience.

Oh shit, so we were trying to get into this temple and our fighter, who is also the worlds most impulsive dumbass, decided to charge straight in before the rogue could check for traps. he ended up taking a shit ton of damage and had to start making death saving throws. I was looking up something in the phb so didn’t realise this was happening. And by the time I looked up, he was dead. It happened so fucking fast. So I pleaded with the DM a bit and told him I didn’t realise what was going on and if I (the player) had been paying attention, I would have immediately cast healing word and dimension door. He mercifully allowed a retcon so the fighter is still alive. That was the scariest one for me so far.

3. what race and class are you itching to play but haven’t yet?

I have an eladrin druid prepared that I didn’t get to play in a one-shot I was invited to and I love her so much. I’ve wanted to try something trickier for a while so I was really looking forward to trying my hand at a druid. She’s my backup character now so we’ll see.

Something I’ve really been enjoying (and I think other people like as well?) is writing certain actions/expressions in an unconventional way. For example:

“The words fell from his tongue like venom.” rather than “He sneered.”

“Her eyes were dripping with sadness.” rather than “Her eyes looked sad.”

“A bright smile painted it’s way across their face.” rather than “They smiled.”

Obviously, don’t do this all the time, just when you feel like sentences are a bit dull ;)
