For my non Facebook friends, here it’s is. I have conquered my dream of doing a marathon and I’ll tell it wasn’t easy! I trained for months to get here. Running 26.2 miles was everything ugly, beautiful and brutal just as I thought it would be. Guess what, I’ll do it again. I couldn’t have done it without all the awesome support of my family and friends! You guys really kept me pushing myself. Also all the podcasts I listened to help me to realize the first one is to finish it and the next race is to own it! @themotherrunner thanks for all the stories and advice! 2x10=20, 4x5=20, 10+10=20 I RAN TWENTY MILES TODAY!!!! Yes, I paused my @garmin a few times to use the restroom once to smash a banana but I freaking ran 20 miles!! I then walked a little over half a mile to cool down on my way back to my house. I am so proud of myself and am actually starting to look forward to my marathon coming up. I started out alone and close to mile 7 my #brf @kelly_finley met up with me to bring me goods and help keep me on track for 7 more. She is an amazing friend, who won’t let me back down from this goal. I appreciate all the love and support I’ve gotten from everyone on this journey to 26.2 and believe me I can’t wait to hit that finish line! I know everyone is likely getting sick of hearing about my running adventures but seriously it's about so much more than the run. I used to be so much faster when I was younger and WAY more passionate about running, I've spent the last few years trying to get back to the speedy passionate girl I let fall apart. A little bit from the weekend, ran before working a double (got up to late to do a group run so it was myself and my girls), yes I often wear mismatch socks, and after working all day we caught the encore of Blue October. This last week has been a little rough, but I'm sure it's my own doing. Regardless I am still slogging through some hilly miles and telling myself I can't quit.
