Goodbye, sweetheart.
I took Rumble in for some dental work today, and unfortunately they found a very aggressive tumor under her tongue. She'd already been losing weight, but myself and the vet had assumed it was just because her teeth were bugging her. The tumor wasn't visible until she was under anesthesia and they could get a much better look in her mouth. It's not the sort that can be treated, and it probably only started developing a few months ago at most.
I made the hard decision to just let her go today, because that's what's better for her. She probably only had a week left at most, and it would not have been a good week. We had some really good snuggles last night, and she slept by my feet all night last night, which she doesn't usually do in the summer because she prefers to sleep on the floor when it's warmer.
Rumble is the sweetest cat I've ever owned. She was so snuggly and friendly. Could never get enough attention, and god forbid her dinner was ever late. Even the last couple weeks as she was clearly not feeling good, she was still yelling for dinner every night and breakfast in the morning.
Going to miss her so damn much. Losing her such a short time after my other cat, Rebel, is a real blow. The house is going to be very empty without both of them.
