I messaged one of my college professors from 20 years ago to tell him how much I enjoyed his class and that my wife and I still talk about him and he emailed me back to say he doesn't remember me

This is actually great news because I was a terrible student and it means I didn't make enough trouble in his class to cause lasting psychological damage
