Rudists - reef-forming bivalves that originated in the Late Jurassic and went extinct during the End Cretaceous mass extinction. Unlike most bivalves, these guys have two valves of different shapes and sizes. One valve is the cone-shaped structure, and the other is a flat disk on top.

Rudists (Order: Hippuritoida)
...were a group of ancient heterodont bivalves that lived through the Jurassic to the late Cretaceous. Rudists were reef-builders and became widely successful during the Cretaceous and even out-competed some tropical stony corals. Like other bivalves rudists were suspension feeders and formed their reefs in shallow waters, attaching themselves to the sediment and building up. Rudist shells are distinguished by a large coiled or conical valve that is usually attached to a smaller lid-like or coiled valve.
