THE SECRET’S OUT!

So your character got their secret out!  Hooray!  Now it’s time to decide how this is going to play out for your character. There’s no right/wrong way to do this, it all depends on your own preferences for RPing - planned out, improv, organic, immediate, a single chatzy session, whatever - the logistics are up to you.  What matters is how it pertains to your character’s development.  Things to keep in mind, now that the secret’s out:

overall, what sort of impact could this have for your character?

how much time do you want to dedicate to working through it?

is this secret relevant to anyone else?  Can you use that to develop your character?

will your character behave differently now?  

does this secret have a resolution now that it’s revealed?  

what progress has your character made?

Ready to let your character bare it all?  Let loose and have fun!

DON'T SAY PENIS. when you're writing sexy anything, don't say penis. penis is for the doctor's office, not for sexytimes. its honestly just so off-putting in a sexy environment and I have never known another gay guy disagree with that. AND YES, TRUST. IVE ASKED.

DON'T SAY MALE. nobody says "the male said hello." nobody. NO, nobody. again, its too medical, too cold. there's so many words for a guy, a fella, a dude, a man, a boy, a useless piece of... well. all perfectly acceptable terms way better than MALE. come on, now.

Like... I dunno. Do you really ever tell your lover to "Do it to me, yeah!" or stuff like that? That's straight up bad porn dialogue. The words people SAY out loud in sex are less sentence-structured and more guttural, feral. in the head? sure. type all the dialogue you want. but when your muse is actually "speaking," don't look at porn for inspiration, cuz porn is terrible acting. and you already know that, I know you do. just... I dunno. think of what YOU say during sex?

The vast majority of RPers on Tumblr will use small text. There are shortcuts for it, without HTML, listed here. Scroll down to the “POSTING” section. Everything from bold to small in that list requires you to highlight the group of text you want to change first. What that doesn’t include is my favorite when it comes to text message RPs: “code” text. This is done with HTML.

To edit a post in HTML mode, click on the gear at the top right of the post, click the drop-down menu next to “Text editor,” and select HTML.

After that, it’s very easy! All you have to do is type your text in between brackets.

It will look like this:

It functions the same way with “small” text.

You can even combine them!

This is how you do “small code” text.

Now you can use that to write your fancy formatted reply!

[FROM: Mom] Please pack deodorant!

[TO: Mom] I want to smell like nature.

You can combine any of these while formatting your posts. I would advise against combining "small" and "sub" or "small" and "sup," since those look like this or like this and are VERY hard for people to read, especially if they have issues with their eyesight already. This is a huge problem in the RP community right now.

“I don’t think our RP is going anywhere and now feels like a good time to end it.”

Or if your case is more special:“Real life has gotten in the way. Thanks for roleplaying with me but I won’t be continuing our thread.”
