RPThreadTracker v4 - Beta Testers Wanted!
Hello, friends!
I've been working on a major upgrade to RPThreadTracker behind the scenes. The new version is a ground-up rebuild in a language I use more regularly and therefore will be more able to proactively maintain, and I am very much hoping it should address a lot of the reliability and performance issues that have been cropping up on the current site of late.
(A number of people have reached out to me and I know I have dropped the ball on replying to some of you; if that is you, I apologize, and feel free to reach out to me again if needed. :) )
This update should (I hope) provide faster, more reliable thread status loading for users with large numbers of threads tracked, better adapting to Tumblr's API rate limiting (this will particularly help those with large numbers of threads tracked, for whom the current app has a tendency to just give up and start returning Thread Not Found 😅). It also has some interface updates, particularly an improved mobile experience!
I'm hoping to release this publicly soon, but first I'd like to get a few extra sets of eyes on it. If you're interested in helping beta test the new version, reach out and I'll get you set up with access. (I've already heard interest from a couple people - thank you so much, and I'll be reaching out to you directly. :D )
Your existing account and all your threads/characters will already be there; the beta runs against the same database as the current site, so there's nothing to set up on your end.
Thanks for your patience while I've been working on this, and thanks in advance to anyone willing to help test!
