okay, maybe he had gone too far when he started to get into a fight on the ice. maybe he should have waited the end and maybe waited to get the other outside to handle his personal problem, but why would he when the other kept telling him how lame he was, attacking him on subject he should not focus on and actually gave 100 % of himself to the game. but he was human after all. sometimes he makes mistake.

"Okay."  Aeron  snatched  up  his  bag  and  threw  the  strap  around  his  arm.  Ilya  didn't  seem  in  the  mood  for  chatter.  Which  sucked  because  he  could  talk  about  everything  and  nothing  at  all.  It  was  one  of  the  reasons  he  was  dubbed  the  cute  one,  whatever  that  meant.  He  didn't  really  like  reading  the  articles,  and  when  he  was  home,  he  forgot  anything  revolving  around  hockey. Following  Ilya,  he  sat  there  quietly  after  giving  him  his  address.  The  only  sound  that  came  from  him  was  the  drumming  of  his  fingers  anxiously  on  the  door. Before  he  could  get  comfortable,  he  opened  the  door  to  his  place.  Throwing  his  bag  into  a  corner,  he  was  greeted  by  Midnight.  He  made  a  tsking  sound  as  the  cat  rubbed  at  his  ankles.  "Thanks.  It's  way  better  than  the  one  I  grew  up  in.  You  hungry?  I  can  order  us  somethin'?"  as  he  went  over  to  his  stand-alone  bar  to  pour  Ilya  the  vodka.

shane is . . . not in a great place when his phone goes off . as long as the top of a building , waiting for a drug dealer in midtown , could be considered not a great place . he can't afford to be distracted right now . but it is the very specific notification setting he's put in place specifically for ilya , if only so he knows that he's about to be insulted , ragebaited , or flirted with . probably in that order . it's been the order since they were in high school . & against his better judgement shane's a little . . . obsessed . still .

& shane tries , he really does , to keep his phone in the pocket of his suit . watching the door , waiting for the drug dealer , that's the point of this . shane can focus .

& he does for a full minute before he's ripping at the velcro of the pocket that houses his phone & pulling it out . he pulls up his mask , balancing on the wall .
