Rowena began her professional acting career with the Royal Shakespeare Company in Stratford-upon-Avon, where she worked with acclaimed directors Danny Boyle, Roger Michell and Nicholas Hytner. The experience laid the foundation for a career that has moved comfortably between stage, film and television on both sides of the Atlantic.
Her early film work includes London Kills Me, Wide Sargasso Sea, Hamlet (Kenneth Branagh) and Proof of Life (Taylor Hackford) On British television she quickly became a familiar face, with leading roles in the BBC’s acclaimed To Play the King and Black and Blue, as well as ITV’s Framed opposite Penélope Cruz and David Morrissey.
Rowena later moved into American television, taking the lead in TNT’s newsroom drama Breaking News, followed by guest appearances in shows such as Grey's Anatomy, Criminal Minds, Numb3rs and Nip/Tuck.
Her film credits include Rob Reiner’s The Bucket List, where she appeared opposite Morgan Freeman and Jack Nicholson. More recent television work includes Trauma, Dietland and Emergence.
Rowena currently appears as Nina Kruger in The Old Man alongside Jeff Bridges and John Lithgow and as Kalle in Foundation with Jared Harris and Lee Pace.
Rowena continues to seek out complex, character-driven stories and collaborations with bold, imaginative storytellers.
