Now that Donnie is back to life and is official that the other bros are going to come back, I'm finally able to write this without feeling the crippling pain of the fact that Donnie died and all the pain his family felt, so I can finally share with you this story that I thought about ages ago.
Now, let my pain overwhelm you.
He was so thin.
So light.
It felt as if I was carrying the Donnie of the old times, when he was just a mischievous teenager (Not that he has changed).
But he was here.
He was here and he was going to get better.
We will make him better.
He was here, and that was the only thing that mattered.
Mikey suggested a Turtle pile.
We haven't done that in ages.
Before this whole mess, Mikey had made Turtle piles mandatory at least once a week.
But with all the Apocalypse thing, it had reduced drastically, specially after Raph's second death.
We still do it, but the time we spent on it was reduced and almost always someone was missing.
But right now we needed it.
We needed to now that we where all there.
That we will always be there.
That everything was fine.
Because he was here, with us.
And he was going to stay.
He was going to get better.
Mikey floated him warped in a blanket while I carried some more pillows to were Raph was waiting for us.
We all piled up on Raph's arm, Mikey and I on each side of Donnie, hugging him.
Mikey was holding him by the waist, while I held one of his arms.
It was so thin.
It was nothing like before.
He used to be almost as thick as me.
His arms were strong, he was healthy, he was full of life.
He was gonna get better.
He was here now, and that was all that mattered.
He was here.
We were snuggling all together.
He didn't fight against our love, our closeness.
He just lied there, letting us give him our love.
He was gonna get better.
Everything was going to be fine.
We were gonna fix all this mess and we were gonna be together.
But right now the important thing was that he was here.
He was here, and he was breathing.
He was breathing so softly, it was barely noticeble.
But he was breathing.
I could feel his pulse through his arm.
Almost imerceptible, but it was there.
He was here.
I didn't want to fall asleep, I wanted to be there, looking at him.
But I haven't felt so relaxed in such a long time.
I felt like we were safe, even if it was just an illusion.
Even if it was just for a moment.
But it was okay, because I could still feel him.
We were always able to feel each others presence, since we were kids.
Dad said that what we felt was our ninpos.
We just said it was another name to our twin thing.
I didn't really care what it was at this point, I was just happy that I could feel him, that I could feel his presence even when asleep.
It was weaker than before this whole mess, but I knew it was there.
He was there.
I could not see him, but I felt him.
And that was enough.
He was going to get better, and both his body and his ninpo would improve.
I would be able to see it and feel it as soon as he got better.
He was gonna get better and everything was going to be fine.
He was there, and that was all that mattered.
He was there.
I could feel him.
He was there and I could feel him.
He was there.
He was there.
He was there...
Until he was not.
He faded fast.
Softly, but fast.
And I felt it.
I felt his heart stop.
I felt his breath stop.
I felt his ninpo leave his body.
And it woke me up.
The moment I stopped feeling him, I woke up.
He was no longer here.
He was gone.
He was gone...
Some tiny people came over and hung out with my dog
